As an update on the guest thing, I e-mailed one of the handlers I regularly see at D*C every year and I got a quick response. This is what she said:
"It depends on the actor. The newer the show the better the deal they can get. When the show is new, DragonCon pays all their expenses and they earn money at the table with autographs and photo ops.....BUT a percentage has to go back to the convention in addition to the percentage the actor pays their agent.
Older shows and actors........they have to pay their own way and hope they cover their own expenses by earning monies selling autographs and photo ops. Because DragonCon pays nothing but giving them a table, they do not have to pay a percentage back to the convention, but they still have to pay their agent for getting them into the show. "
Last year was my first opportunity to attend (that is, the first time I could pay for the whole trip), and loved it. I'll be there in Daft Punk tuxedos, Monarch Henchman, and assisting my friend who will be in his massive Subject Delta costume. Anyone know if there is a Venture Brothers group in the parade this year?
Last year was my first year as well and it has been a long year waiting to go back to the convention. I cant wait!
You mean something like this? :lolAnyone want to place bets on most common costume? There will surely be a ton of Tron, Iron Man, and the rest of the usual suspects. But I think it might be a breakout year for Axe Cop
The count down continues!
I'll propose a meetup on Saturday, after the parade, in the super crowded food court. Any objections / better ideas?
So, a meetup in the food courts after the parade on Saturday seems like a good idea. How will we know each other? Should we make it "Official RPF Shirt Day" as well?![]()
