Dragon Skin in a silicone mould?

I have an object I would like to cast out of DragonSkin-FXPro. Simple question... Can I make a T28 silicone mould and use that to cast a DragonSkin copy? Will silicone on DragonSkin silicone react with each other? I'm guessing yes so can I use a form of release agent like vaseline or Ease Release200?

Many thanks

Is T28 a tin-cure silicone?

In general platinum silicones won't cure against tin, but tin will cure against platinum.

And don't overdo it with the EaseOff - Soft silicones like ecoflex/dragonskin are very sensitive to it and can inhibit in the presence of too much release agent.

But in any case I'd recommend doing a small batch test before taking any big chances with your mold.

Thanks guys

I decided to do a test last night... infact both vaseline and Ease Release work. The DSkin pulled off the T28 with no problem. Infact im wondering whether any release agent is needed... but better to be safe than sorry :)

You can also consider making the mold out of a urethane mold material. I would check with smooth on to be sure but i have used Reoflex 40 dry with silicone and not used any release at all, I always prefer no release for painting reasons. I cast a part out of Reoflex 40 dry by pouring it into a silicone mold, but it does not matter which is the mold and which is the part. Again i would ask specifically about the dragon skin but if it's silicone based i would bet you would not have a problem. If making a 2 part mold the mold halves would need a release as usual when pouring the mold.
