Dr Who - Osterhagen Key - No Spoilers

The LTO cases look to be of the soft vinyl type that prerecorded VHS tapes came in. The Osterhagen looks to be completeley transparent acrylic, check the thickness of the walls.

I'm gonna guess this was custom, proably laser cut pieces assembled around the key prop. Capped this pretty extensiveley, and there doesn't seem to be any openings.

There is, however, a keychain at one corner of the 'acrylic' box.

Very nice screencap... I would have to agree that it's clear acrylic. The cap that I had looked more translucent. Also, it does look custom. I guess we'll just need to wait for closer shots of the key.

My apologies for raising this thread up from the dead, but today I've seen what is supposedly a BBC made pre-production version of this key prop on ebay UK. Type in the appropriate words and I'm sure you'll find it.

It does look quite nice and for a moment I was tempted to place a bid, but the more I look at it, something just doesn't feel right about it.

The details are good, but they don't marry up to what was seen on screen. The biggest issue with this is that it's a pre-production prop. I didn't think that the BBC props department would ever go to the trouble of making such a thing as I thought that it went from various designs to the final design and then to the finished build.

Looking at some of the seller's other props, I think I've seen similar items around these parts before, so is the seller a member here or what? As I'm new to all this, I'd love to know what other members here think. I'm really not keen on bidding on something that may not be what it's cracked up to be.

Thanks.

Where is this listing? The Osterhagen key was scratch built btw.

Lesson one. How to make yourself look like a pillock on an internet forum: Mis-read something and then post a question about it openly whilst grabbing hold of the wrong end of the stick entirely.

I read 'reproduction' as 'pre-production.' Sorry about that. Nothing to see here. This isn't the Osterhagen Key you're looking for. Move along.

Should've gone to Spec Savers.
