Dr. Jones (Indy's Dad) Bag

I was looking at my figure of Henry Jones, Sr and began to wonder about the bag he carries. The one with the figure looks close to the movie version but does anyone know what type/style of bag it is supposed to be? Is it something common for the time period or older?

Any ideas? I might like to have one some day. Might be useful for carrying lightsabres:lol

hi crazyoldwizard, I think its some kind of physician bag where doctors put their medical stuff in when making house calls :)

I will keep checking. Thanks.

I looked at ebay a few times but never saw anyting myself, but very possible to have missed it especially not knowing what to look under.

It's a while since I last watched Last Crusade, but isn't it similar in style to this one, although the clasp being a big different (I tried searching vintage leather briefcase).

Hello Guys,

I once heard that Indy's satchel was a modified British Army gasmask bag. I think it was world war one, but it could have been world war 2! :confused

Good luck finding one.

Wrong bag - they are looking for his dad's bag. And yeah - Indy's was a WW2 gas mask bag.

check out my post for my Henry Jones SR costume as i think my bag is very close it's a vintage Bellows suitcase and i only paid £5.00 for it from my local re-use shop, it was already a bit battered and weathered but i did distress and age it a bit more to match the film

I cosplay Senior also, I searched for a couple years on Ebay for that exact bag with no luck.

I found a couple of the same type of bag, but they were brown. Senior's bag is black. So it would be a matter of colouring the bag.

I don't know what the style is called, but it is not a Doctor's bag, but a suitcase.

Here's a screen shot

This one's really close, but as I recall it was extremely expensive.

Here's mine, I had to add the tabs, they're rivetted on rather than sewn as they should be.
