Hi forum.
Newbie member here with a question...
Okay, a bit of a retread of my intro post when I first joined, but I could use some advice to assist my scouring of the interwebs. I've already had some great assistance on Jacket weathering links and suggestions in the Wolverine thread (Thanks Comonbub and all who pitched in with that info!), but this is regarding my better half.
My girlfriend and I are doing our first Comic Con in NYC in October, and we will also be doing our first ever Cosplay. Before I go further, let me be clear that we are going as as close to screen accurate as is possible within effort, budget and time frame to October 10th. Both with me as Wolverine (X-men 1) and she as Dr. Jean Grey (same). She is, as it happens, a professional wig designer for Broadway here in NYC and will be hand-building my Logan wig for the Con, but as she's a natural red head, will be most likely leaving hers to styling alone.
She's also starting a custom Cosplay wig company next year, after being caught up in the mania that is fandom since dating me, so she and I both take this very seriously on multiple fronts.
I brought that up to really illustrate that we're going to some lengths to accurately portray Logan and Jean at selected points in the film (not necessarily the same points, as I'll be going as snow/Canada scenes "intro-Logan" and she as "Suited-up" Jean) and really are just putting it out there that we could genuinely use some expert help (see: RPF Genius Bar) where her outfit is concerned at this point. We (she) is/are UBER hardcore about this.
I have mine (costume) completely covered and in-utero ( in the process of creation/ custom fabrications, the Jacket, links to the belt buckle, make of boots, suitable denim Jacket in place of the hard to find Helmut Lang, etc.).
Her outfit...not so much.
There are a couple of the standard black suits I've found online that are decent enough, while the sources (usually via ebay linking to off site...sites) always seem to be in India or another country, with the ads (often using the same images from other companies) poorly written and delivery time is about million years.
Butt...I've seen a Logan X-suit posted here on RPF that is just enormously high quality.
I followed the link provided to that suit hoping to find perhaps the whole ensemble, and it seems they don't offer it anymore at all. Nor could I find a Jean Grey version (which is what I'm solely looking for) with the red piping, etc on that site (which I can't recall now but I found here somewhere on the Wolverine thread).
So the Question- Does anyone know of a source for a reputably sourced, high/higher quality Jean Grey X-suit?
Preferably one which may be altered- especially around the bust area. My girlfriend is larger than Famke, going closer and really a bit past the "7 of Nine" measurements in that department (classiest way I could describe that, babe-sorry Honey
, so alterations and/or custom measurements would both be advantageous.
Any serious or knowledgeable assist would be greatly appreciated by us both.
