Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 425$!!!

The engraved floral patterns look a little...pardon my french..."messy" and asymmetrical compared to the original prop....

Guys, it is handmade. We can't have the precision of a machine!
For me is more than perfect die the hard and incredible work involved

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 425$!!!

I don't see ANYTHING wrong with these engravings and like the original prop this IS being done by hand, NOT by a machine and Tony Swatton did not have to make 35 hooks, nor did he even do the engravings and claims the engravings cost thousands...we are getting this hook for $400.

Thanks sarednab for you years of work on this hook

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 425$!!!

Thanks to all! I think we will be so happy for this prop... :)

If demand will be high I'll do a second run but price will not be the same of this first run. In this run I have all of you that supported me over 2 years with a few update and no more! So thanks guys, thanks for believe in me again!
I love you all :)

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 425$!!!

It looks amazing. Very nice work.

I must have missed a post somewhere. Was it confirmed there was a stand option happening or not?

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 425$!!!

Don't see anything wrong with the engraving. It might not be 100% symmetrical, but it looks damn fine for something that's been done by hand! Can't wait to see this finished and... chromed I suppose? If I remember correctly there were no plans to also offer a stand. But I think I'll already start looking for a nice red velvet pillow to display this beauty...

Something like this would be perfect, I guess:

Yes I read about the stand difficulty, but the initial post interest list had people with "stand" next to their name so I though I may have missed a memo.

Sourcing that style velvet pillow would be a treat. Would hate to have to go to a seamstress or whatever you call people that make such things. :wacko

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 425$!!!

So Sarednab,

In all honesty, what kind of time frame are you thinking on this? Are we looking at another 6 months? 3 months? What's your thoughts?

Jesse

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 425$!!!

I only say what workers said to me.
If there was problem with materials, if we change materials from steel to brass and all other thing happned is not my fault.
Btw, no time frame. It will be update step by step, as usual

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 425$!!!

Even if it's another 6 months, that's fine by me, as long as we get an update from time to time here. Looking at the last pictures I guess a lot of work has been done already. Apart from cutting the bottom of the hooks, adding the "wire" and attaching the actual hook (and chroming the whole thing), I guess it's pretty much done?

Anyway, this is the very first time someone tackle's this prop, as far as I know. It's logical that it takes some time to put it together. I personally prefer a longer waiting time and a superb prop replica, than a shorter waiting time and a replica that has been a rush job. With longer waiting times, only one thing is crucial: comminication! And I think Sarednab does pretty well in keeping us op to date, no?

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 425$!!!

Could not agree more tom. Sarednab has done a great job at keeping us up to date and even though its been a year or more im also more than happy to wait so that this prop is perfect. Its will be a center piece of ny collection
