is that the same arc from your mark 3 videos that you zoom into at the end of the vid,

Re: IRON MAN - Mark III Armor - Update- June 30. 2011 - page 13

That was a version 1 I guess you can say.
The one you see on the suit now is Version 2. It has some changes made.
The original design is based off of one I bought in 09'. I wish I knew his name. It was off ebay.
I made my own eventually after that one died out.

I simplified it a lot in terms of wiring.
The original was kind of overkill. It had lots of soldering.

You'll only have to solder 2 points at the ends where the battery connector goes on mine.

You'll see soon enough. :)

The propotions of your suit are spot on and i bet that the final result will be flawless. In fact it is your photos that helps me to decide how tall the neck or the shoulder bells should be placed so that iron man looks propotionaly prefect. Can't wait to see more pics...

Re: IRON MAN - Mark III Armor - Update- June 30. 2011 - page 13

It's a really simple design, nothing fancy. Just a quick and easy build.
hardly any looking around at home depot to for tech looking parts other than the copper wire.
This details are just an illusion. You'll see what I mean when I show you. :)

I'll be eagerly awaiting that tutorial as well... It's something I haven't even starting thinking about on Mikey's suit. If you've got a simple way to construct one that looks as good as the one pictured in your suit... I'm up for using that method! :):thumbsup

How are planning to attach/hinge your shoulder bells... That's my next pieces so any info/ideas on attaching that piece would be awesome!

Thanks!

I'm sure a guy like you will take the simple Arc reactor info and up it by 1000% quality anyway and put mine to shame :cool

As for the shoulders. I'm just planning on using webbing and quick release buckles for easy securing and removal.
I don't really have anything fancy planned other than that method.

Wow really nice work!
I haven't been on in a while :p

I do think you might want to redo the chest. It looks a bit flat. :love

What did you make the mannequin out of?

Re: IRON MAN - Mark III Armor - Update- June 30. 2011 - page 13

Iron Magneto actually looks .. fantastic! It goes well with the Mark III chest

Re: IRON MAN - Mark III Armor - Update- June 30. 2011 - page 13

not much of an update but I was messing around with some paint on a raw unfinished cast I decided to use as a test piece for different things.

I think the color is good enough. I dunno what the color is exactly but this will do for the red.

Dark Cherry Red Metallic - "Perfect Match GM" Brand if anyone is wondering.

Nice work Stef, colour looks great. :thumbsup

Re: IRON MAN - Mark III Armor - Update- August 22. 2011 - page 14 - Paint Test

Is there a difference between GM's Cherry Red Metallic and Dark Cherry Red Metallic. Searching for it only brings up the regular, not the dark. But the regular color swatch I have looks to be a pretty spot on match for your paint stealth.

FYI, GM's (Regular) Cherry Red Metallic has the exact same color properties (RGB, hue, saturation, lightness) as Isuzu Red Rock Metallic, which I believe was one of the movie test colors.

a lot of the colors look so similar when I went to buy the paint. My intention was to get a different color all together and then I saw this one.

If you're not too picky, a lot of those colors will do, as they all have that similar tone to them.
I am so pleased with this color. I can't wait to paint up some parts
and maybe I can actually have something cool to display soon.
