D'OH!!! My props!!!!

Hail to the Fyfe for replacing my totaled newspaper! Just got it in the mail, can't wait to frame them....FAR from the ground and cans of anything! May caulk up the seams just to make sure :eek

Ah, y'know what... I had a 6 pack of Buzz cola and one of the cans leaked the same way. It got all over my electronics and seeped all over a counter where I was displaying them. I ended up throwing the whole 6pack away. I think it was a problem with the can manufacturing and I could not find a hole in mine either. My advice to anyone who is saving this can: make sure its empty or you drink it.

All cans, steel or aluminum, will leak like this over time. It has to do with changes in the internal pressure. The very best solution is to use a small nail and punch the bottom. I have actually used expanding foam (just a very little squirt!) inside to help them keep their shape and not buckle if dropped or struck.

Hey Jumpin Jax. That Sucks. Listen though, my wife and I will be in Seattle this Saturday through Monday and if you want I will replace your papers for free. I will be staying at my families house in Edmonds and I will just print off another set and bring them with me. If you want to drive up to Edmonds and meet me I will hand deliver them to you (that's the catch) :)

You're a great guy Brad.

After seeing this thread back when it was originally started, I drained all of my Buzz Cola and Duff cans (punched a small hole in the bottom).

Thank you to Jumpin Jax for the warning (sorry you had to go through it to warn the rest of us), and a thumbs up to Jedifyfe for going above and beyond what is expected of a seller... now this is what is meant by "prop community"! :thumbsup

Amen!

PS. I mentioned this whole affair at the local 7-11 where I got the offending cans. The clerk got a funny look, told me to wait a second, then brought this to me from the back room:

:lol
Take heart, I drained these potential bastards before they even got in the house!

I wish that I'd seen this post a month ago. One of my Buzz cola cans started leaking, too. On mine, the leak was on the bottom. It was a slow drip and didn't do too much damage, but it was a pain to clean up.
