In a truly Homer-esque scene, I discovered that one of my cans of Buzz Cola from 7-11.....LEAKED on my display shelf. I can't even find a hole in it!

It sprang a leak! I should sue whomever made the defective can! These cans are defective! Who's that across the street in the duck blind....? :confused

Hey Jumpin Jax. That Sucks. Listen though, my wife and I will be in Seattle this Saturday through Monday and if you want I will replace your papers for free. I will be staying at my families house in Edmonds and I will just print off another set and bring them with me. If you want to drive up to Edmonds and meet me I will hand deliver them to you (that's the catch) :)

Sorry to see this :(

Never trusted those buzz cola cans..with their shifty looking logo :angry

Could have been much worse though...Count your blessings brother. :angel

That would rock! I'm going to North Bend this Friday, so barring a hideous mistake in geography I'll be in the area. Thanks!

Oh man...I feel your pain...I actually winced when I was scrolling thru those pics...

If your can of Buzz cola can go in water. I'd fill up the sink and submerge it, you'll get air bubbling out where the leak is.

Ouch...:(

Yeesh, it was really hard for me to look through those pictures. Is everything that is damaged fixable?

Sorry to hear it, bud.

Yep. that's happened to me...just not on any props, but on the walls of the house. When I lived with my parents, my dad collected tons of soda cans (like special editions with pictures on them or what-not) He had the on a self all around the room (which ended up being my bed room during that last couple of years I live there.)

Normally it's a good idea to just open the cans and empty them. They will somtimes expand and then spring a tiny link at the top. What's worse is after they get really old the sryup seperates from the other liquids and its even harder to clean.

I had that happen too. I collected the can set from the Star Wars I and displayed them full. More than one of them sprung a leak out of no where just like that. It is like the soda ate through the can over time. I hope the damage was not too bad. :cry

Oh yeah, I know too good...

Ive got the same problem with "The Rock" VX Gas Prop. I should search for a good solution for the problem... And yes, this thing under the green liquid VX is my Sankara Sanskrit. :unsure I dont trust all these liquid props... :lol I think this is the reason, why I never make a Plutonium Can from BTTF.

Steve Sansweet used to answer questions on how to properly store Episode I themed soda cans. His suggestion is to use a nail and punch a hole in the bottom of the can to empty out the liquid.

These cans ALL explode in time. So for those still displaying full cans, keep that in mind.

My Ep I cans were sealed with air inside
Helps that I worked at Pepsi at the time :lol

I was going to suggest drilling a small hole in the bottom of the can, my friends dad used to collect beer cans from all over the world and every so often one would let lose... It's normal, after all they are metal, usually under pressure and filed with a liquid (usually acidic) oxidation is going to happen...

Most cans now are protected by a thin layer of plastic, excpet for the lid portion - that is the first place to spring a link under pressure.

I just wanted to say how nice that is Jedifyfe! Thanks! (even though I'm not even remotely involved and rarely post) :rolleyes

Cola can eat through almost anything, teeth and aluminum cans included. That REALLY REALLY sucks. I audibly winced when I saw all the other collectibles splattered.

I only have one liquid prop, and in the 15 years I've had it, it's never leaked. However it's sealed inside two jars with rubber gaskets.
