Doctor Who - Matt Smith shirt christmas 2010?

It still looks white to me.

And geez, the proportions are all off on this costume. The jacket's too long, the pants are too short, the boots are too short. It just looks silly. Also, the jacket material is way too heavy. Not a fan of this new costume at all.

Agreed. I like the hat though.

I think thats sorta the point though. to have that kind of haphazard look, the short boots and the long coat. its a throwback to the 2nd doctor's appearance.

I still maintain that they should have kept David Tennant at all costs, but there's just some things that you can't do anything about.

I hated the 11th doctors costume when i first saw it....although i picked up enough of the component items that I dress like that myself now three or four days out of the week...*ahem*

Anyway, i do think that the Moffat era Doctor Who suffers from some major aesthetic ugliness, from the interior of the Tardis (and the exterior too, come to think of it) to the iDaleks, right down to the costume. Such a shame given how cool and tasteful the RTD era was. But this version of the costume really is taking something "meh" and making it just slightly more difficult on the eye.

Pursuit on GallifreyBase recently found a good match to the Series 6 Eleven Shirt at a 2nd hand store. Brand is Robert Jones (Italy). Not sure how easy this is to find now elsewhere but something to look out for:

Sure is. That's even closer than the Club Room shirt. Speaking of which, did anyone buy one and could post pictures? I went to the Macy's in Westminster today and looked for 40 odd minutes, couldn't find it anywhere. Saw a similar one but the lines weren't dotted. Kinda bummed out about it. If anyone could post pics that'd be great. I want to see how close it is before ordering from the website.

Thanks Dave, that actually looks really good. I notice that the fabric does have the same look to it too. I think I'm gonna have to order this one. It's a great close enough.

So I found a fantastic shirt for this, the right spacing of the lines, the only thing is that its all red lines.

So I've got two inqueries:

1: Does this newest shirt have a breastpocket? Mine does, but its a simple enough thing removing it, I just am looking to be as accurate as possible

B...no wait...3: Should I get a fabric marker, and go over half the lines in blue? I mean, I drew squiggly lines on my old doctor shirt, to make it more accurate..I'm just wondering how obvious it would be that my shirt is different. Thoughts? (Pics coming vaguely shortly. lols)

the newest shirt doesn't have red lines. two shades of brown and two shades of blue make up the windowpane pattern. They're also not continuous lines, but a dash pattern.

From the trailer for next season it looked like he won't be wearing this one again. It may be easy enough to get a close enough, but is it worth it?

he is definitely wearing it in set pictures. it's just that the trailer focuses quite a bit on the opening two parter where is wearing the blue bow tie and a blue and white striped shirt which also has a tab collar and i'm almost positive i can see contrast back to the button stand. both features seen on the brown blue windowpane pattern shirt. my guess is they are the same brand with different patterns and colorways.

i'm working on series 6 detail breakdown since we've yet to identify any of the items.

So thats a no then? lols. It looked Red on my comp, and I think I can pass it off as a "good enough" until I find something better. lols.

ha. it totally comes down to what's good enough for you! i'm an anal retentive perfectionsist with this stuff. it's driving me crazy that we haven't been able to identify the new shirts yet. or the pants...not that i've found a jacket either.

In DWM Smith said that they were using new cameras, and the old shirt was causing strobing. A shame, cause i loved that shirt. It really off-set the geekiness of the rest of the costume.
