I used to be the biggest simpsons fan.

I used to tryand hunt down all the unlicensed shirts.
I played the hell out of the CD simpsons sing theblues.

I still have my copy of the radio released song 'Do the Bart simpson' (no, not the michael jackson song)

I had a DOS Version of the Simpsons arcade game, and later got the actual board itself.

But, eventually, even i saw a dip in quality to the show.

And it started around season 13 with the endless celebrity guest stars taking over the show and adding really nothing.

I havn't really watched since, and can't imagine why it's still on.

Recenlty, I tuned in twice. One was what had to be a 40th Homer/Marge Breakup story. Only now they've evolved long enough to be able to do Facebook jokes in it.

I think the other was a Halloween show which wasn't scary or funny.

When the halloween shows become unfunny, it's time to cancel.

Anyone actually enjoy the show it's entire length?

No, and I don't watch family guy either because I find that nothing but a Simpson knock off

the Simpsons had some wicked funny episodes, but after seasons 5-6 I kinda lost interest. Mr plow episode I loved, Halloween speical all classics! How about the whole "who shot mr burns" series, that was awesome never saw that outcome lol!!!

These threads always turn into "Where did you fall off on the Simpsons?" and rightfully so.

I feel off somewhere at season 8, maybe 10, if I even bothered to give it that much of a chance.

Bob's Burgers is the new king right now...

I remember specifically watching the season 6 finale, "Who shot Mr. Burns" and thinking "Yep... it's over"

And season 7 was the season I checked out.

I stopped when Fox started showing football again. You never knew if the show was actually going to be on Sunday or what time it would start.

I have however just recently rediscovered them. I'm going through them on the FXNow app. Just finished season two.

Practically all shows suffer the same fate.....one great idea is hard to sustain. I don't know what season it was, but the moment Marge just gave up lecturing and being displeased with Homer's usal antics, that was the end. Then it got silly and rude instead of being satirical,'t mind silly and/or rude, but when it's a desperate try for laughs, it's lame.I tuned in recently to a new episode and it's was drivel, non nonsensical rubbish.

Family Guy's core idea was even less likely to sustain a decent length...which while no pun is intended, that's the premise of the entire show. I liked the early stuff, but it's just not watchable anymore.

Probably also has a lot to do with the quality of the writers and how the good ones tend to move on to bigger things.

I think it was somewhere in the late 90's that I thought it stopped being funny.

If it's on, I'll watch it for the nostalgia of the poor animation of the early episodes, but that's about it. It is good background noise at times though.

I too find Family Guy much funnier but even that seems to be getting old. The first 5-6 seasons seem to be better than the recent ones they have too. I still think the first 3 before it was cancelled are the best.

I can honestly say I've never watched a single episode. I remember it as a bit on the Tracy Ullman show, and the series was really popular through high school and college. But, never a single episode have I watched. It just never grabbed me.

By now The Simpsons has been weak 3-4 times longer than it was strong.

I love what it was in the early days though. You had to be there. Watching the shows in hindsight doesn't really convey how rowdy & inappropriate (and yet good) it was in the first couple years. Eventually it jumped the shark and turned into a nonstop Homer-is-a-moron thing.

Family Guy has its moments but I feel like it's assaulting my attention span. (Same with Robot Chicken.)

When FG first got going I was put off because it looked like such a cheap Simpsons ripoff and yet they were pushing it extremely hard. It was like when a city/state wants to legalize gambling or make the public pay for a new sports stadium. The public can vote against it but they will just keep re-introducing it until it passes. But when a good show fails to catch on after a much smaller effort they blame it on bad ratings and cancel it.

I kind of stopped watching it in the late 90s as I recall. And I was a HUGE superfan! I had the website way back in 1994-2001 called the homer Simpson home page. It was ranked higher in yahoo (a big deal back then) than fox's own official site, it even had it's own category in the director lol

That said I have watched random episodes since then and enjoyed those for the most part. I really don't know why I lost interest, I guess that just happens sometimes??

Obligatory: The Simpsons is still on?!

Haven't been interested since the 90s. It's an artifact past its prime. I moved on to South Park, Archer, and recently Bob's Burgers for my animated subversion (I hate Family Guy...)

I used to watch it religiously, but just sort of drifted away. Probably around the time Futurama started.

It's odd, I've realized now there are now a lot more episodes that I have not seen than those I have seen

South Park and Family Guy have kind of gone the same way. I haven't regularly seen an episode in a while.

Although unlike the Simpson's those rare times I catch one I still enjoy them. The last South Park episode I remember was the one with GRR Martin and that was still pretty good

Bob's Burgers is definitely my new favorite along with the Venture Brothers (although they take so long between seasons now, and even then, they are shortened)

I gave up on the Simpsons in the late 90s.
I had never even watched Family Guy until they did the Star Wars episode. Then went back and watched 'em all. I LOVE Family Guy but it has suffered greatly in the past several years.
South Park is only good if you're stoned- something else I gave up a long time ago.
I am now into Bob's Burgers. To me though, it's only Tina that makes it good. "Hu-hu-hu-hu!"

I still watch new episodes from time to time. But my wife and I watch them a lot on FXX. I still enjoy it. **** in the real world is such a downer. Every now and then you just need to veg out and have a good chuckle. Ironically if you will remember the show started out being about Bart. Now as we have aged it is all about Homer. Makes you wonder as we get older if it's going to start focusing on Grandpa. Something to think about.

Wow. People fell off early... I did not notice a significant decline in quality until the time of the movie.

I still watch it now and then, but it has for me never been a series where I have looked forward to the next episode and marked it in my (mental) calendar.
