Disney's Galaxy's Edge

This part has been bugging me for a while because it's just really nice looking in terms of a large scale greeblie. Searching what's visible on the sticker finally yielded a result this weekend: The part appears to have been produced by a die casting firm in Anaheim (which makes sense). There is an image of the part on their website - the page that focuses on assembly.

I wrote to Hyatt Die Cast asking about the part. Here's the response I received:

So I am going to guess that WDI contracted with Hyatt Die Cast to get seconds and scrap castings for prop decoration - likely in a bulk lot - and these items were among the pieces they purchased. Still doesn't help for full identification, but it's a datapoint nonetheless.

I did an image search using your image and found this..

Happy May the Fourth!

I made Ronto Wraps for dinner.

neato POV videos of Rise of the Resistance and the entirety of Galaxy's Edge just went up on D+.

(now we know why they finally fixed the moving turbolasers earlier this year. They had been immobile for at least a couple of years. What would it take for them now to fix Orlando's?)

Thanks for the comment Treadwell - I was watching those yesterday and when I saw the moving turbolasers, I thought, "How did I miss those moving?" - this from riding it last year - I guess they weren't recoiling when I was in Orlando.

The cannons caused too many issues causing the ride to consistently shutdown. The decision was made to not repair them and leave them non moving.

As Treadwell mentioned, the ones in the west were repaired and most likely so the video could be made. I truly believe there will be no effort made to repair the east coast cannons and also believe that the west coast cannons will only last until they malfunction again and at that point leave them off.
