Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

You could have moving crew visible walking by the windows. Interesting.
If you're talking about shadow box lighting, the "tech" for that has existed for years. Motion lamps have been around since at least the 70s/80s if not earlier. If you mean identifiable projection moving "people" in color, that's a different story completely, and would likely put the price at well over 2K.

Or have an active bridge visible through the upper dome.
With OLEDs on the inside of the nacelles and the aft nacelle ball caps to have the same effect as the front of the nacelles…like the original intent.

For those lamenting the Eaglemoss build-the-Enterprise-D, here is another:

Saw this build on YouTube. Interesting but no lighting or sound EFX’s. Kinda boring. Looks like a Eaglemoss diecast ship that you have to put together. It’s a nice looking kit but bland.

Not to derail, but I have done 2 partwork, the Falcon and the T-800. i was tempted by the E-D but a lot of work to get it good and now may not happen. Sad for folks building it and employees at EM. There were some cool builds happening

True but some of these builds I find are not totally up to snuff. I like the Flacon but it needs a lot of work to just make it feel right. They could have included figures and more details in the interior. Plus the electronics could have been better too.

Have you seen the STK Falcon? Amazing upgrade from the Deagostini! Pretty steep in price but the electronic upgrades and details are just awesome!

How did you like the T-800? Eyeing that for my next build.

And yeah Partwork kits can be tricky. Eaglemoss going out of business like that screwed a lot of people over.

T-800 is ok but needed upgrades and was not well designed,I would not do again. I have a thread for my falcon if you want to see it. Now back to The Enterprise

It would be very disappointing to find out that they will sacrifice detail in order to hit the same price point. I'd rather pay more and get a better ship. Just speculation at this point, but worth mentioning. I find it very difficult to believe they could do a refit for the same price as the original.

I agree! I am happy to pay for nice quality, accuracy and some options on a refit. I'm might rank the D7 first since I think that would be the easiest to hit for the price.

For the refit I am more worried about quality than price.

Lets see how the TOS turns out. if it blows us all away then I am willing to give TOMY the benefit of the doubt in that they will deliver a quality Refit enterprise for the same price as the TOS.

I was concerned at first how the TOS could be delivered at that price point as well. But the reach out from TOMY and product previews really mitigated my concerns. I am thinking they will role out a prototype of the Refit as well for all of us to see and I am sure they will value our feedback as well.

Everything...future projects and all...are going to depend on the TOS. I hoping for the best!
