Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

Haha. This happens in almost all collectable hobbies. Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Lego, Star Wars etc....there is always one guy that asks way too much, hoping an ignorant eBay user will bite...
They'd have to be truly stoooopid to bite on that!

So I just called TOMY customer service. The said "they are processing the orders". Well, that's reassuring.
Processing the orders? You mean the ones we made over a YEAR ago?

There are - at MOST 2800 units to ship out. Unless they are really stupid and simply printed out the orders when we entered them, they are stored electronically. You need to purge X number of orders because of cancellations from that Database. Even assuming you were doing that manually. and using only one person to do it, completing one record every two minutes, ( that would be slow) and that HALF of the people cancelled ( I think this is an over estimate) you are looking at about a weeks worth of work-- which one SHOULD have been processing since Sept 19th when they officially offered cancellation, leaving what? 100? 200? orders to be processed from Friday? There is no reason the printers shouldn't have been ready to go BRRRR printing labels on Monday, unless they are literally entering those orders for the shipper by by hand, and they had a year to prepare so they didn't have to do it that way. . But lets say , even though they aren't a bank, Tomy gets Columbus day off. Fine. Printers go BRRR on Tuesday. They provided a ship date. They told people they were in lockdown at a warehouse in Iowa.

I am still very curious to know why Australia has their orders already, when all of their orders should have shipped to the US and then been Shipped back to Australia. And now Tomy gives us a shifting US Ship date, but still can't meet that target? Do they have them in hand? Cause it seems to be that those would the lower order numbers would get shipped first , and still should have seen something by now. My Order number is mid, but this delay is making me nervous. I would expect to start seeing some US based people posting their vids and pictures.. but so far I can find nothing anywhere.

I'm on vacation end of the month, so hopefully I'll have mine by then.

OMG! I don’t work for TOMY but I can tell you with 100% confidence that you’re going to get your toy spaceship.

On a FB post that the buyer indicated he was informed by Tomy that they would be processing for a week before starting to ship, which wouldn't be till next week !

Only if they have them to ship. For all we know the cargo container was lost at sea or stolen. I know its Tomy, and that is why I expect , with a year+ to plan, they would have these out in short order. According to Xlowes post - on FB they indicated they would take a further week to process? Does that make sense to anyone given Australia somehow has had thiers for weeks now already? A massive Corporation like Tomy can't have 2800 items shipped out in a week with over a year to plan? And why provide a shipping date of the 9th if you don't actually plan to start shipping on the 9th? The 9ths wasn't listed as the " we will start processing orders" date was it? And even if it were.. we would have seen things shipped for 3 days now. There is no reason to wait till all 2800 units have been processed, before sending them is there? I am perfectly happy if order #1 gets thiers before mine is processed. Some movement of items should be expected by now.

I think you're leaping to conclusions or at least strongly speculating with almost no concrete information. It's not unusual for the handling part of shipping and handling to take longer than you'd expect when you're not dealing with someone like Amazon.

Okay, so step me through that. I have - at worst - a stack of paper orders. I have a stack of boxes in the warehouse. Its Monday October 9th.
I take the first order off the stack, and I open a pick order for the ware house. I Open a Shipping label with the shipping company. Maybe its all hand written forms. Maybe I have to to staple the shipping label it to the pick order. The pick order is taken up in the normal function of the warehouse.. and when it is complete, they affix the label. The Shipper picks it up. Explain how that 1950's level of process takes 4 days to "start" shipping. That you don't get to all of them on Monday? Sure. To get to none of them before tomorrow? And in the modern world, the forms are automatic, the pick orders are optimized, and hundreds, if not thousands, of orders get their "label has been created with the shipper" notifications n Monday. Something else is , and has been , going on. My speculation is wild for sure. But the problem is I am being given a reason to speculate. A lot of this process is managing expectations, and Tomy is doing a horrible job of it. If you plan to ship the first box on Thursday then you tell people the ship date is October 12. Then I don't even think to question why no one has gotten a shipping notification yet.

Nobody “here” has gotten a shipping notification yet. I bet RPF members are a fraction of total sales. Also, anyone not new to the prop buying process knows how ship dates work. If they hit 3, 4 or 5 days from 10/9 that’s a win. They advertised Fall 2023 and it’s Fall 2023.

Yeah, the members here are probably less than 1% of total backers.
