Did anyone see the Supergirl Cape on Ebay?

I was extremely interested in the piece but ultimately passed on it. I spoke to Startifacts and got some background info on it, but after reading a past thread on here about fakes on here I just couldn't pull the trigger at their asking price. They guarantee the item for life, but there was one on a ebay before from FL that was signed as well. This threw up a red flag, anyway the cape sold and for the future is there anyway or to tell if one is authentic.

This thread isn't to knock any dealers, but to hopefully gain some education for myself and others.

I would guess it's an Armando Alvarez fake.

Its my understanding that the Supergirl Cape was a cut down Superman Cape. Is this correct?
It was told to me that the Startifact's cape was kept by Slater after filming and a TX collector owned it that worked for the Salkind family.

If this was a real cape what would the expected value be?

The wording on the first auction is 'wooly' and doesn't actually say its Screen Used or Production Made, only that its an 'original' from a private collector and its signed by her. The location of the signatures are different so I don't think they were the same item.

I read that and it did sway me more towards the decision I made. I have to say they seemed very forth coming with me answering my multiple questions. With my lack of knowledge and seeing the other auction, I felt it was safer just to pass on the item. Again I am not saying any negative about anyone, I'm just a beginner and the deal just didn't feel right to me.
