What kind of cap is DiCaprios in Gangs of New York??? How do people call these caps and where could I find one of these? Any suggestions??

Could possibly be either a newsboy or paperboy hat, a conductor hat or a greek fishermans hat. Thats my guess you can google it.

no prob, I really think its a variant of the paper boy, which was popular during that time period. Its hard without seeing other angles of the hat, you could always ask baron hats or places like that, they might be able to id the hat type aslong as you give really good pics.

You might try looking at biker caps as well. It's got that sort of a shape but a larger crown than you see normally. B! Wear makes one in wool that's pretty similar in shape. Not a match, but it's a starting point.

I thought it looked like a sort of Captain's hat just pushed way back.

These guys can make wool Wheel Hats, less expensive than leather. Just have a brown material.
