Great chart. I don't think "Korean" should be a category though. One of my jackets was ordered from there but it wasn't manufactured in that country.

Hmm. Maybe "Near Marty Style". Since it's very similar. Off the top of my head i don't know when they were made exactly. I'm sure someone on here does.

The first jacket on "Near Marty" looks like a fake, material and colours look wrong.
The second jacket on "Near Marty" is my photo/jacket that I bought two years ago shipped from Canada, but it would of been sold in the exact same place as the real Marty jacket in the 80s.
It has the exact same materials and colours as the '84 Marty jacket, as during 1985/86 Guess changed their denim. My assumption is that it was sold in 1983, before the '84 Marty jacket as I found an advertisement for it from that year.

Realized one of the 1986es was actually by Urban Equipment, so I moved it. Follow-up to Sinister80s' concern: I literally cannot find the original eBay listing with Google Lens reverse image searching. I did close-up on the tag. Is this what they used in the early 1980s?

Yes, that was an early tag, same as mine. It probably is real I just have not seen that colourway before, unless the blue is just very faded.

This is fake. This definitely looks like a Max Cady (EDIT: It's the official BTTF replica from a few months ago) jacket. The last two photos of the real Guess lining is not even the same jacket, he just took photos of the lining from a real Guess jacket and added them to the post to make it look like it's from the Marty jacket. That's also why he covered the lining with a red shirt in the first few photos. Shape is wrong, denim is wrong, snaps are wrong, lining is wrong era, pocket Guess logo is missing, and the jacket NEVER came retail with a paisley lining.

Considering that he is a big BTTF collector on his reddit page, I very much doubt he found this in a thrift store.
I will also make a reply on the reddit thread just in case, as everyone believes it is legit even though it's a readily available replica jacket from Max Cady.

I'm hoping to find an original in any capacity. I don't really want it because it's the Marty jacket; I wear my Paris Express '86 jacket every day.
Made this find last night and purchased it this afternoon.
