The DST Communicator is derived from the Vegas Comm, which is turn tooled from the Master Replicas Comm, so it already has the basic shape and details of the other available non-kit Comms (excluding the Rodd.com, er Comm :lol)
I own their Comm, and it's a fantastic piece for the price (NewForce has them for $20!) and is easily upgradeable, should you wish to do so. $5 on eBay can net you some ThunderJet wheel hubs that you can replace the control panel knobs, HeroComm.com has a moire sheet you can download and print out to replace the low quality one already in there, add a bit of gold paint on the speaker grill, and you've got a damned fine Comm for less than any available kit or preassembled Comm (not counting the Playmates and its ilk, of course, which the DST Comm blows out of the water) with reasonable accuracy.
