Dexter Season 7 and 8

Re: Dexter Season 7

you don't think the "all i see is blood" was a direct nod to the first season?, when Dexter has that "storm of blood" ? lol he was certainly seeing red then. I loved that whole aspect and how he explained it. its like an orgasm to him, the stalk being the foreplay and the kill finally relieving him of the want and need to kill, to me the way he acts out the kill scenes is iconic for this... He stabs them, puts his head back and exhales in relief. We have also seen many times how once Dex gets a kill he goes back to being "normal" until he starts to see blood again. Another example is smokers... ever seen a smoker watch an anti smokers ad? guess what they go do right after seeing it. lmao Dexter works around death (and blood) its no wonder he finds it hard to quit hahaha. I've also known alot of smokers who have "quit" several times. IMO that addiction aspect of the show was dead on and i loved it.

Well said in every way Joel.

Re: Dexter Season 7

another good episode. Deb may slowly come to terms with Dexters need but also shutting him out of her life which may somewhat destroy him. Can't wait for next week.

Re: Dexter Season 7

yea i loved it dude, Dexter's fantasy kills were awesome. Dexter's in a lot of trouble and he doesn't know it yet lol. Laguerta still snooping around, the Russians finding out his name. Louis getting killed off was some what another big surprise for me! seeing as his character was so unpredictable and unknown! but it was great in a sense, the kill shocked me and i'm glad he didn't just end up being another serial killer, he seemed sort of harmless at the end... ill get him back by sinking his boat lol last season i thought he knew alot more then he actually did.

Re: Dexter Season 7

You mean how they're going to make him Dexter's patsy? I haven't even watched the new episode and I've been thinking that for a while.

Re: Dexter Season 7

would make perfect sense if he was. we'll just have to wait and see. what a damned fool he was, all over his game he ends up getting off'd by being at the wrong place at the wrong time. He would have died one way or another though.

Re: Dexter Season 7

Our DirecTV receiver died the day after the second episode of Season 7 aired (and took the first two DVR'd episodes with it), and it took a few days for the replacement receiver to arrive, so I didn't have an opportunity to see the first episode until yesterday when I found it online.

I thought episode 1 was one of the best episodes of the series. Having now watched episodes 2 and 3, I'm very pleased to see the writers didn't take the easy way out and have Deb buy Dexter's story about Travis Marshall's death. As much as I enjoy the show, there have been too many times in past episodes where Dexter has gotten away with what he does simply because the writers dropped the ball and used "convenient" circumstances to let Dex slip through the cracks.

I really like the way they're allowing Deb time to come to grips with Dexter's Dark Passenger...so far, anyway. With previous characters who have uncovered Dexter's secret life, they knew only a part of who he was, what he did, how he did it, etc., but with Deb he's forced to reveal far more than he has with anyone before, except maybe for Harry. And every one of those people were damaged in some way (again, except maybe for Harry), so it was easier for them to accept Dexter's activities; by comparison, Deb is an "innocent". So on one hand it's sort of refreshing to rediscover Dexter's character through Deb's eyes. On the other hand, her opinions and thoughts about who and what he really is showcase just how ****ed up his activities are when seen through the eyes of someone with "normal" morals and opinions on murderer. It'll be interesting to see where they're going to go with this.

Re: Dexter Season 7

I am enjoying the season..but I have a problem with one thing. WHen Debra was talking to Dexter and warning him how things will come back on him or maybe on Harrison...they missed the obvious part. It DID come back on him and Rita was killed!! Why do they not mention Rita (or Astor and Cody)? It's almost like their characters didn't exist.

I agree with you. There is so much conversation we are either missing, or hopefully, they will show in future episodes. As I said before, if I were Deb, I would have a million questions for Dexter, about their family past, and work-related cases. Rita is the most obvious one, and if I were Deb, it would have been upmost in my conscience the moment she really realizes what Dexter is.

And where is Harrison when Dexter is living with Deb? I don't get that either.

Still LOVING this season!

Re: Dexter Season 7

I want to say there was a throwaway line about him dropping harrison off with someone, but it seems like harrison just stayed at 'his place' - the apt next to Dex's that Dex took and added a pass through door between the units. Seems like he was there the whole time and the babysitter stayed with him non-stop, at least that's what the info leads you to believe.

With Louis, i think the important shot was after he got shot, the camera immediately went to a shot of the floor of the boat where he bled on it. Almost seems as if his body will turn up and they'll find his blood on Dexter's boat and then he's in deep for something he didn't do.

Re: Dexter Season 7

Rita was finally brought up to my surprise so the writers do have it to where she finds out more and more as we go on. I liked this episode. Was good to see Dexter being chased for once. I was very shocked he got rid of the bloodslides even though that was the smart move. Keeps getting better and better.

When was Rita brought up?

Wait, when did he get rid of the bloodslides? How did I miss that scene?!

Re: Dexter Season 7

yea rita was mentioned twice in the episode. deb brought it up. Yep, no more bloodslides. He put them on Speltzers chest before he put them both in the incinerator.

Re: Dexter Season 7

Ah. I just realised you were talking about the newest episode. Havn't seen that one yet.

Yeah. Why do I come to a spoilers thread without having seen the last episode?:facepalm

Re: Dexter Season 7

I get the strong feeling Dexter's Trophy box was incinerated to make room for the one he may end up reclaiming from the FBI evidence box...(what we call the "Doakes box")

I remembered that box when he burned his, but never thought he might reclaim it. I just figured that even though his was gone, we would still see the other one a few more times. Hopefully at some point he will get it back.

Re: Dexter Season 7

taking the blood slides from evidence? possibly a bad idea with Maria lurking around the corner.... if that slide box goes missing she sure as hell will know its some one in the office..... and who did Doakes all ways suspect? could be a good season ender.

yea that whole ep was about rita, the bath tub ect ect

im really really loving this season. Speltzers playing the saw style games was pretty cool.
