Dexter costume

Thanks, Tom! I'm pleased that I don't look like such a gomer in this one. LOL

The pants were definitely a lucky find. I haven't checked ebay in awhile, but last time I checked they were almost non-existant. :( Looks like we'll have to work on some replica G-Stars.
 
i wish we could get the REAL dexter stalk/kill shirt that doesnt have the flannel type pattern on it, but clearly made for the show. :(

Dexter's shirts on the show are straight off the shelf from AA. You can see the weave pretty clearly in most closeups.

oh really? his has the fannel type pattern too? it just seemed like in a lot of scenes with him and Lumen which are pretty close up that there is no small flannel squares. my mistake
 
and i have 2 two stores in my town that specilize in tons of tactical clothing, they may carry the G-star pants (even if discontinued, they still may have some on the shelves, which model are they so i can call and check tomorrow?
Got my 5.11 tactical tundra pants last monday and im getting some more, in khaki, olive, etc. they are just so damn comfortable. and the fit is amazing.
 
so basically going over the color of the boots, i see a lot of you guys dyed yours to me more of a lighter brown, but post #150 on page 6 looks like they are darker brown than light brown. the boots i got are brown, they havent arrived yet, but they arent diesels as i couldnt afford them but the ones i got are close enough. here is a link, what do you think i would need to do to the right color, and im not tallkin about the light color cause ive seen too many screen shots, and just watchinh the show itself, in the later seasons the boots are darker....

The G-Star pants are not tactical pants. They are a dutch designer that is much more popular in Europe than the US.

Check out the posts starting at 177. The boots are the lighter colored Diesel's. While I prefer the color of the boots you bought personally, they are not accurate for Dexter. However, they'll still look just fine. :cool
 
so the seal brown color is the right color? because that is rather close to the color of mine. are the moque bisque the lighter ones?
 
The Mocha Bisque is the correct color, it is also the lighter one. The Seal Brown appears to have only, possibly, been used in the Season 1 promo pics. The actual boots seen on screen are the Mocha Bisque.
 
ahhh but on episode 11 of season 4 after he gets out of stan beudrys truck they are lighter brown. so say i do want to lighten them up a little, how do i go about that? what is the right color dye?
 
I'm far from a leather expert. Risu would probably be able to clearly answer. But as far as my experience goes, you cannot dye them lighter, its not like paint. There is no way to do those boots lighter without really destroying them.

I could be wrong.
 
eh either way they do match the boots in the opening credits good enough, and are pretty close to the seal brown boots, just need grayish tube laces.

It's funny that once you have the Mocha Bisques in hand you can see how much the color shifts, and they are definitely what is seen in the opening credits.
