"Dinah grinned to herself at Lloyd's typical blustering and lifted the flap of the envelope, sliding out what was inside. It was not a letter. It was a stiff card, like a birthday card. She glanced down at it and her eyes opened wider as she saw the patterns snaking across the front. Twisting, twining tentacles. I'm a primary school teacher and last year I read Gillian Cross' "The Demon Headmaster" to my class. They loved it and wanted me to read them the whole series, so I went out and picked up a copy of "The Prime Minister's Brain" (the 2nd book in the series). I also started watching the old BBC TV series version of The Demon Headmaster on YouTube, as I had fond memories of it and thought it would be cool if I could bring in a prop from it.
Well, the second half of series 1 of TDH is based on "The Prime Minister's Brain" and features this cool looking holographic octopus card that can hypnotise it's reader to bend them to the wishes of the evil Computer Director:
This can be seen in this episode (end of part 1 and beginning of part 2):

So, I managed to track down the correct holographic paper (I found the EXACT same pattern and colouration, but the circles actually seem to be slightly smaller that the ones on the real prop), copied the octopus by hand onto some black stick-on vinyl I had spare, cut it out and put this card together. The inside is based on screencaps from the episode.
It's just oh-so-pretty to photograph! :lol
Octopus - s - s - s - s!"
Time for a totally obscure prop now. :lol
