Demon Bat Full Body Costume

Hi guys and gals!!!
I think this is my first post on the new Lair! The place looks great.
As usual...it aint a post about a hunter....

I've gotten the head cast from the mold and painted up.

I guess it's really starting to come together now. I propped up the headpiece onto the body sculpture to see what I still have to do detail wise to make the neck of the cowl blend into the chest piece. I think a little more of that charred effect around the area where the cowl will rest on the torso and that too can be molded. Even though it's black, the torso is still in the sculpting phase..:)

Here I threw a cheap nylon cape on him just to see if all the proportions and angles lined up the way I planned them :ninja: . The finished cape will have the same charred and molten 'distressed' look of the body but for now...just a look at it with a plain cape....

david that is looking sweeeet, awsome work as usual. hope to see some of your newer predator stuff on here soon. like the gort bio you teased us with. your sculpting talents never stop amazing me.

That's just looking Kick@ss. The amount of detail put on that suit is just crazy..

Looks like its coming together nicely David. I noticed the hands are on at last! I am eager to see what you do with the final cape. You mentioned that you will be doing distressing and charring on it, I have been toying with doing a full paneled latex cape for my Spawn that will be textured and charred to all hell, would love to talk to you about how your going to make the Demon Batcape sometime.

Thanks Pred People! :)

Mike,
The movie version of this cape was basically the same shape as the usual hero bat cape but the top areas that are around the neck had strips and pieces of shredded silicone glued down onto it, making it look much like burnt fabrics. This entire demon bat dude should look like a 'lava creature'..and charred ash..or at least that's my best way of describing him.

Just try brushing some latex on a flat surface...bunches of globs and so on. When dry, peel them off the ground and glue them onto the fabric cape...it's really that simple. :ninja:

I would like to see a pic of that spawn you got in the backround.I love the evil batman look ya got going there.

I made that SPAWN a few years ago. In these pics here I'm wearing a real foam latex Al Simmons appliance that was left over from filming the SPAWN movie. I made the entire costume, but not the head part. Last year I sculpted the black and white Spawn cowl. I still have to put that whole suit on to take some pics with that hood... :)

Enjoy!

Thanks everyone!!! :) The comments are all quite humbling... :p

As for the Demon Bat, I made this display bust for the Smooth On booth at the IMATS in London this weekend, and for them to display at all the various other conventions they do.

Made entirely from Smooth On products, and the eyes were made by Guy Louis XVI. Silicone skin with polyfoam core.
I hope those of you heading out to the show have fun...and take lots of pics for us less fortunate that cant make it...
