I've scratch built a couple Star Wars Blasters. Would love to have a decommissioned Stirling submachine gun. Anyone know where I might acquire one?
Thanks,

Location is everything, some states/countries are very difficult to import fires arms to.

Even if they are decommissioned

If your in the US, you can't really get one. As per ATF regulations, the receivers have to be torch cut in small chunks.

In other countries a few welds to the innards will make it a-okay but, nope, not the the good ol' US of A. :sleep

You can find parts kits which contain the leftover parts but, these are considered machine gun parts by the ATF so I would be very careful about assembling them into something gun shaped. They're sold as a novelty and are not really meant to be "built".

I wonder if you bought a parts kit and added parts to it from a E11(i.e. counter, saber grips on the barrel parts and scope) but leaving it in torched pieces so that it looks as if someone with a weapon, say a light saber, had cut the E11 into pieces. That way the original stays in the BATFE approved cut condition but you still have an E11 made from an original Sterling.

Probably if I were to do it, I would want to substitute more futuristic innards than the original Sterling parts so I guess it would be a waste to spend the money on a real parts kit.:confused
