Deathstroke, Arrow Season 2

This is the pouch I got:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004J9DBPY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It was actually chosen based on Amazon Prime shipping more than anything else, since I was in a rush. Thankfully it worked out :)

They were in pairs, so I got 2 of them and cut one pouch off.

For mods I cut the elastic bottom off, flipped it over, and that was about it. Since those are scratch built grenades it was easy to make sure they fit right. One of the many, many items on the punch list is to make better grenades.

Our debut at Boston Comiccon went well!

I didn't get to finish the shins, so they were lacking the orange bits and knee pads. Otherwise I was pretty happy with my first time out.

Teen Titans approved!

I got a photo with Malcom Merlyn too. My wife is FAR too happy to be touching John Barrowman, and my daughter far too unimpressed ;)

On the immediate to-do list, in order of importance to me:

* Finish the shins
* Finish the back of the helmet
* Install the back plates
* Get a new gun that fits in my holster properly
* Make better grenades
* Get a real sword for photo shoots -- the bokken is great for cons, but not for posed photography!
* Get a ton more carabiners
* Get the cobra buckles
* Make the back knife
* Make a fake knife for the boot sheath

Oh, and get a better eye patch! When I got tired of wearing the mask, I went around without it. Sadly the only patch I could get quickly was pretty cheesy:

Amazing! If I hadn't read it I woulda thought that was Manu himself lol. Great job! And I've searched for a leather eye patch similar to the one worn by Slade in the show but all i found was brown steampunk ones :unsure

I started working on the helmet back this morning, and will be picking away at it through the day. I'm lucky enough to work 10 minutes from home, so I can run back at lunch to do a quick coat of bondo / sanding / whatever :)

I am really excited to have the helmet back in place. That was the one part that ALMOST made me not want to wear it, and definitely made me not want to enter the costume contest.

Rolling right along... started doing the detailing work that I wasn't able to get to last time.

This isn't perfect, but it's reasonably close. After this pic I did add the 4 rivets in the corners.

I went with a Husky knee pad as the donor part for the knees:

And I'm putting the finishing touches on the mask

I'll take some pics of the molds later tonight and try to step through it. The super short summary is:

Make shin forms out of 4" pvc pipe, glue, bondo
Vacuum form shins in black abs
Apply carbon fiber to center detail
Layer black vinyl over that with cut out for carbon fiber
Hand sew vinyl to plastic around the carbon fiber and outer perimeter
Rivet on straps
Harvest plates from Husky brand knee pads for the knees
Cover knee plate in blue carbon fiber
Cut out black vinyl for inside of knee
Hand sew around perimeter, through the carbon fiber, plastic and vinyl
Rivet on knee pad
Rivet on orange details to upper shin and knee
Repeat for other leg
Cry myself to sleep.

Wow, this costume (and it's friends) are amazing! Where did you get the Mirakuru Army masks - are they off the shelf and painted or all Pep builds too? Awesome work. And... Subscribed.

I got a really close rattle can match. Vht high temp drive train paint in burnt copper. 9 bucks a can at advanced auto parts

The army masks are from a generic Chinese paintball mask. I got a damaged one, rehabbed it, modded it to match the show, then vac formed a bunch in thin black abs.

Here's a good shot of the canned orange:

The details on the shin aren't perfect... I had already finished most of it before I saw that newer picture posted here. But, given that I was working off of a picture of an action figure, I think I did OK. I am NOT redoing them!!! ;)
You suit looks frikken awesome man! Great job!

Nice job, for sure. My buddy made the original, and when he wore his to a con and Manu saw it, he said "Wow, that's the best cosplay of me so far! "! to which my friend said, "It should be, I made yours in the first place! "

Thanks!

I've been on a little break from building... my workshop was such a mess that I couldn't get anything done. I've been getting it cleared out and ready to finish up the helmet!
