DEADPOOL: Hopefully a costume worthy

Hey guys,

I've always loved Deadpool's character but haven't seen too many really effective cosplays. Well...I'm gonna try and create one. It may suck...it may be a triumph...I'm sure I'll learn some stuff but being new here I wanted to document the creation.

Pics to come.

Thanks,

Small update....

I've got the "basis" for the costume together. I didn't want one of the pre-produced Deadpool morph suits because I think they look silly. I went with a basic maroon morph suit as the foundation for the suit. I am going to heavily modify it to make it as "true Deadpool" as I can.

Anyway...here's the basis for my costume.

Hi there.

I'm also working on a Deadpool costume (in really slow time) as I've been a fan since New Mutants 98 (although perhaps not of the Rob Liefield version). I was at Dragon*Con last year and saw all the spandex costumes (and the myriad 'gag' versions) which set my teeth on edge. So I started working with P-leather on a more accurate costume.

My first thoughts were which version of Deadpool to copy - there are almost as many versions as there are for Iron Man. :)

My second thoughts were that P-leather is not as stretchy as advertised, so I may go for neoprene (wetsuit material) instead for the red costume areas.

Anyway, I'm keen to see how yours develops.

Best of luck friend. :)

Deadpool looks badass in the op photo.
I would suggest looking into the right material. Far too often I see bodysuits made from too shiny material. I would think I stretchy jersey knit might work like the one from whatever game this is :http://0.tqn.com/d/playstation/1/0/Z/K/Deadpool_GamesCom_Two-Are-Better-Than-One.jpg

there is also this cosplay one that looks like it uses good material: http://files.coloribus.com/files/ad...955/deadpool-the-game-comic-con-600-97458.jpg

The black around the eyes should probably be larger though. Or at least I like it more with the bigger one.
You can probably make the leather strapping from belts from thrift stores or buy some leather from a place like tandyleather and do it all from scratch.

Getting the white fogged plastic eyes so you can see through it seems like it might be kinds hard. I've been trying to get eye covers like that for a long time. If anyone knows of a good way to do it, please let me know.
