DC Animated movies

Most of these movies put me to sleep by the climax/big battle.

Having said that I really enjoy the animation style of the most recent ones.

I wish they would pick up more seasons of Young Justice. That's been the best DC show to date in my opinion. The animation, stories, and writing were all top notch.
Instead they always seem to revert to a babied-down version of Batman.

that's kind of why i liked allstar superman. a bunch of short stories that could have easily been superman/animated series episodes.
But I agree. I'm tiring of batman. none of them really tread new ground with the character... just the same stuff over and over again.

arn't there any great moments in Green Lantern history, or wonder woman history that could equal peoples opinions of 'death in the family' or 'killing joke?'

give OTHER characters other than batman a chance...and do them right.

Agreed. I wish they would more GL. Get into the Hal Jordan as Parallax and Darkest Night stories.
The way they keep pushing Batman infers their other hero characters don't have strong enough stories to occupy a feature length cartoon.

I like the the alternate universe stories. A feature length movie even based on the Injustice game's story would be cool.

well you can now vieuw it on netflix. Also there was a video from danica who voiced miss martian urging to binge it to spark interest in it :p

Agree tho after watching that i felt like i was watching the older animated series quality and was a shame to find out then that it was cancelled.

Justice league versus teen titans.

My god... the way they draw some of these female characters. Firesprites power is simply standing up under her own chest weight...and her transformation.....I almost groaned out load.

Superman and Wonderwomans New 52 costume is also god awful ugly. I'll never get used to it. I keep on wanting to tell superman 'dress fully, your cape is untucked'...

the movie itself wasn't bad though. nice to see the return of raven and delve into her history a little. at least this battle remembered to have some humor and action into it.
I also like that they seem to be keeping a running plotline with damian. although Ido wish he was a true son of bruce and not a clone or genetically engineered. it would humanize bruce a little more.

also, these dc features need better celebrity voice talent. superman is so dull sounding.

I totally agree with you on Wonderwoman's costume, I don't know if it's what she wears in the comics but the outfit in this movie was awful, very boring and uninspired.

Bwahahahaahahaha! I'm not sure whether to be flattered or insulted! ;)

Firesprite? You mean Starfire? That's pretty much how she's always been depicted in the comics.

Also, are superman and wonder woman a thing in new 52?

I always liked the teamup of Bruce and Diana myself.

ahh, it's too early in the morning to get characters confused. apologies to firesprite ;o)..

No worries. It made me legit laugh out loud, so it's all good. :)

They've been a couple, off and on, in the comics for a very long time. The Bruce and Diana thing is only very recent. I figure Wonder Woman is one of the very few that wouldn't suffer from the "Man of Steel/Woman of Kleenex" syndrome.

I guess I should pick up a few of the comics.....

I was actually thinking of the bruce/diana dynamic in the JLU animated series... I didn't know it was a thing in the comics too.
But in the animated series, they had a very nice chemistry that I kind of liked.

If it's a recent thing in the comics, is it a first time thing too? as in, never done before over 75 years? wonder if they got the idea from the animated show.

As others have pointed out, her appearance is very much drawn from the comics, though her costume is more of a blend of the original and the Teen Titans version.

But yeah... That transformation sequence seemed straight up ripped off of anime power up sequences. Hers in particular, though, was close to being a porn parody sequence.

Not that I'd know anything about that... *shifty eyes*

Bruce and Diana dated which in the end never really ended up to anything more then friendship which was later also portrayed in the jlu animated. Even tho the scene where he sang a song for wonder woman kind of showed how he felt :p

clark and lois were a thing before but as far as i can remember most have been non-canon until the recent 52.

Any faithful adaptation of The Killing Joke would absolutely deserve an R. This book was first published in the late 80s when there wasnt as much of a trend to make superhero based comic books directed towards a more mature audience. They were few and far between at the time. I remember buying this book at 12 years old in 1988 and having the guy at my local comic book store question whether he should let me buy it.

I don't care how bad it might end up being, it has Conroy and Hamill in it so that's a win by itself. I just saw another trailer for this and the batmobile in one scene is almost dead on for the one in the Animated series.
