I'm not sure this would help, but I use a very simple rig for the Anovos Darth Vader Costume, it's not a voice changer but it lets me use several of the lines Jones delivers in the movies. It's easy to setup as well. Here is the YouTube video for it -

I used to have a hyperdyne but switched over to the ROM - I prefer having the enclosure - I was always worried that I would damage my Vortex II board.

currently over on the SLD, many are using the Voice Synth app for the iphone, another option becoming popular is the ZOOM effects pedal.

I really like being able to interact with the crowd directly, or that would be ok as well.
