Thanks, but the thighs, belt, and shoes are all clone. The differences being the colors. The belts are clone but just only have the two main boxes and the canister. I was in discussions with jangojedi and I sent him be 3d models for his build. I have not been able to reach him in awhile, and from what I can tell, he hasn't had the time to continue it

Re: Darktrooper Progress Thread update: 10/13/11

yes you are right they are clone my mistake :). Sorry i am very OT when it comes to star wars. Dude I hope you can continue this build the end result will look mean!!

Re: Darktrooper Progress Thread update: 10/13/11

No problem!

Anyway, moving along with this project. I'm going to be working on the helmet sculpt more tonight. I need to get it where it was before getting damaged. Once the clean up is done, this will be ready for making the transistion mold...and go from there.

In the meantime, I have already ordered OSCS clone parts as well as the TK pieces. Having this covers 90% of the entire suit. Also acquiring the belt set up from steelbitz..

Moving along!

Re: Darktrooper Progress Thread update: 1/8/12

Alright, here are the pics I've been slacking on posting. These are from tonight. I went and got what I could finished with the sculpt. Unfortunately, there is only so much I can do at this point but it still "looks" like a soup sandwich (to me) but it's where I need it to be for the transition mold. Structurally speaking, it's no good, so I'd like to get this in the rubber ASAP and cast a solid and or hollow resin piece to work out the final master. My concentration tonight was symmetry where the areators go, as well as re-sculpting the bottom part of one ear cap. Finished off "filling out" the forward "tube" section, so both sides are pretty spot on with each other

This mix grey and white clay is really throwing me off and cannot wait to get a solid piece in one color!!

Re: Darktrooper Progress Thread update: 1/8/12

Good news today. Talked with a local studio and they are allowing me to bring the helmet in for molding. My biggest constraint is time, but their willing to help me out with it. Looking to order the polyurethane rubber this thursday!

Re: Darktrooper Progress Thread update: 1/8/12

Good news all around. I am about ready to make the transition mold for the helmet. Got the list of supplies I need, then just need to sit down and do it. Next thing, I am going to be having the torso pieces CNC milled directly from the 3d file. Discussed this with the studio whos helping me out. Gonna throw on some hydrocal and vac form it. I'll keep you all updated!

Also...the clone armor just arrived!!!!

Re: Darktrooper Progress Thread update: 1/8/12

Steelbitz sent me a pic of my custom belt! Looks pretty good for color! Can't wait to get it in the mail!

Re: Darktrooper Progress Thread update: 1/13/12 clone armor in!!

hey that looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing those milled armour pieces; can't get more accurate than that really :)

Re: Darktrooper Progress Thread update: 1/13/12 clone armor in!!

Got some help from Brandyn the other day, just wish I had more time! He helped me get started with the clone parts and got me to a good spot to continue fitting and getting the "space diaper" fitted properly. I had to extend both sides on the cod and butt plates to get a good overlap so I can work with it.

The good news is that the thigh armor won't need to be extended, I cut down one set and learned that I can assemble it right after I trim the excess plastic off. I will however have to cut down the return edge at least halfway to get it comfortable.

To top it off, I received my clone hand plates as well as my belt from steelbitz. It's slowly coming together!

Re: Darktrooper Progress Thread update: 1/13/12 clone armor in!!

Oh my bad. All those pep pieces came straight off the actual game model, no modifications whatsoever
