Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - Password in First Post

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files **New V2 teaser pics pg.68**

I thought that it all depended on what scale it was "crafted" in. I've had a helmet with a scale of 1.23 that has fit me the same as an 86.7.

Could you try to work it out using the mm measurements rather than the scale?... Just a thought

InCOGnito B2TE is right, the final measurements of the part and the relationship to the scale depend on how the model was made or the scale of the model in the 3D program.

I modeled my armor to be the same size as Robo3687's files but I set the scale to fit a smaller guy in Pep Designer. So if you make a suit with Robo's files scaled to 25 and then you make a suit with my files scaled to 25 then they will be the same size.

This means that if you printed the collar plate and the brace out at the same scale as the chest and back then they should all fit together just like the picture I posted.

If you are going with a scale smaller than 23 then you should be about 5'4" to 5'5". If you are taller than that then you need to go with a bigger scale.

I tall 5'8". I made a mistake or not?

Well parts of your body may be sized differently from the model but if you are 5'8" and really skinny so that the parts at a scale of 23 still fit you then you may notice you will have a lot of open space in between your costume.

I would suggest looking closer to a scale in between 23 and 24. You can always use some foam padding to get the armor to sit correctly on your body if it is too wide.

I'm having trouble locating actual files of Zabana's hand peps. All the links I've tried so far are bad. Darkside's are great, but my hands are more square, and from the pics I've seen, I think Zabana's will work better for me. I know there are others looking for them too. Help a guy out?

I didn't make a hand file... I am using Zabana's. I only combined his upper and lower palm and unfolded differently. The model is the same.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files **New V2 teaser pics pg.68**

about how much wiggle room should there be in the armor? Right now I'm working on the right arm (bicep, top and lower forearm) and well my scaling is different for each piece

Bicep = 22
Top forearm = 24.5
lower forearm = 23

My question is about how much area around those parts should i leave for my arm?

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files **New V2 teaser pics pg.68**

The Biceps are a scale of 23.000000 it seems small or is it just me? im 5'8

Well it's going to very from individuals. I'm 6'2" and by that alone gave me a 26 scale but the bicep is too big when I put it together. So try various scales an maybe just use regular paper to until you get it right. If anything it gives you practice building and scaling

Okay.. Darkside said that if Im 5'8, I should go with a helmet scale of 94 - 95. Now, What will be a better fit for proportion? 94.000000? or 95.000000? (PLEASE RESPOND! ANYONE)

I would start out at 95, see how that works. If there is wiggle room maybe line the inside with padding or just make it again but smaller

yeah, what he said.

Ok guys, I will post a Christmas present this coming week. ;)

The Biceps are a scale of 23.000000 it seems small or is it just me? im 5'8

at 5'8" you may want to look in between a scale of 23.5 and 24. Use the measurement tool (right-click in 2D window for tool menu) to take specific measurements so you wont have to build 3 or 4 of them to get it right.

Okay.. Darkside said that if Im 5'8, I should go with a helmet scale of 94 - 95. Now, What will be a better fit for proportion? 94.000000? or 95.000000? (PLEASE RESPOND! ANYONE)

You should use the circumference of your head as a better guide for the size of the helmet. At a scale of 95 it would fit a 23" head with enough room for hinges and some foam padding. If you have a smaller head then you will want to go with a smaller scale.

Thanks for sharing chingun. I have checked out the model and flipped all the backwards faces but I don't think I can use this model even for reference. I would not consider it to be HD and it is not accurate enough. Unfortunately it is missing a lot of important details. Where did you get this model BTW? It seems like it was extracted from a video game judging by the way it was modeled and the quality. Anyways, the overall shape of the figure might be able to help me get a better shape with my model but the model itself is not going to be very useful for developing the V2 pep file. I do appreciate your trying to help though.

Don't get me wrong... if I hadn't already modeled the Mk VII then this would be a good jumpstart on the project but it is many steps backwards from where I am now. ;)

i just fih=gured out that the mk3 back and the mk7 one without bouster are almost the same so why no taking it , modifying it and the modify the flaps booster and shoulder pod so it would act as detachable part . just like the hot toys mark 7 !
