My helmet progress so far. I've done one coat of resin and am ready to fibre glass.

I thought I would try something with the bulldog clips to see if it made the separation easier, so fingers crossed ;)

Thanks for the file Mike :)

I don't think there are any issues. I have not had any other complaints.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - New Pics pg 100!!

I'm just starting out doing pepakura for the first time. I'm going the paper route because I wasn't having any luck with foam. I'm starting out with the mark 7 hand, hand plate, and the upper and lower forearm. My goal is to have it ready for Halloween to wear with the black sabbath shirt and an arc reactor.

The problem that I've run into is that I scaled the hand plate and forearms to 25.5 because of my height (6'). The 2 parts of the handplate match up just fine but the indented part where the handplate and lower forearm meet up is off, the handplate is too wide for the forearm. I went back into pep designer to measure the pieces and it looks like I would have to rescale the handplate down to 19 to get them close to matching. Does that sound right?

Ok I know that the first issue everyone seems to have with this process is scaling. I'm 6', 190lbs, size 36 waist and the abs are really driving me nuts. I had to make the cos piece 28 to make it just fit around my waist because I have larger hips. Moving to the abs I decided to go down to 27.5. My measurement estimate was that it would be tight but I finished the pep last night and it BARELY fits with my shirt off. So my question is, has anyone else had to go up to 28-28.5-29 on the core parts to fit?

That is exactly right. When I made the V1 model, before there were any good references available, I had to guess at some of the details. I used details from previous suits and the Kotobukiya statue (not accurate) as references to make the Mk VII parts and decide how they fit together. Anyways, this was one detail that I guessed wrong on.

Everyone's bodies are shaped differently and the Mk VII was not designed to fit on a person. That is why everyone should not just print up the suggested scale based on height. You need to double check each part with the measurement tool.

i kinda failed even with the tester helmet. it looked overly big for me.
well, i've kinda measured, mah head's measurement is about 10" height, 7.5" width (diameter 23" end-to-end).
am kinda lost which file i should use.
btw, i printed in A4

I had the same issue, I'm 6'2" and 205lbs so I did a 26.5 scale on the cod to fit my 34 waist. I scaled everything to 26.5 so to get the abs to fit, I cut them down the sides and added elastic like Dashat showed in his YouTube video.

Ok, I was wantin to make sure that I wasn't missing something. I guess I'll redo the handplate smaller to match it up and see how everything looks and go from there. Thanks for the files and your input darkside.

I made it bigger than the exact dimensions to match the forearms because it was too tiny on the back of the hand.

Check those dimensions too, not only the forearms part. :)
