Dark Knight Rises

Well it's not like they aren't marketing "the legend ends" on everything and everywhere, with trailers filled with doomful foreshadowing comments from characters.
Letterman probably just picked up on that and call it like he saw it.
I don' think he knows a damn thing.

I hope this is all just misdirection for build up and drama's sake.

I was looking for any midnight screenings in my area earlier. After finding none I did a search and found that Warner Bros have requested no midnight screenings in the UK so spoilers don't get leaked to the internet before it's released in America. Shame, midnight screenings are fun too.

Well, TDKR has officially passed TDK internationally. Over a Billion. Come on Nolan. Let's go for a fourth one:love

Reel

I just saw it for a 3rd time with my dad and nephew. Place was PACKED!!! I WAS SHOCKED!! The audience clapped and it was just as awesome as the midnight showing.

Thats great and very rare by todays standards, with mouth watering numbers in one hand and a worthy script in the other, I hope the studio entices Nolan and Bale back for another ride.

As much as I'd like to see Nolan and Bale team up again for a 4th Batman film I'm pretty sure Nolan has left no room for changing his mind on this one. He wrapped up the trilogy perfectly with the ending of TDKR so maybe it's best to just leave on a high note.

Agreed. I highly doubt there would be any more Batman although they did leave the window open for a continuation in another fashion.

Like Indy, leave it be. The only one of these that I really loved was The Dark Knight but the others were mostly solid. To start a new story with the same characters wouldn't make sense at this point.

Um...YES!!!!

NTF Exclusive – Bane

"Sources have informed Nuke the Fridge that not only is a Director’s Cut being developed by Warner Bros. for “The Dark Knight Rises,” but it’s going to include Bane’s origin plus a bit more screentime for Ra’s Al Ghul (Liam Neeson) which were omitted from the current theatrical cut of the movie."

“The thing that you should have seen during that sequence is [Bane] being injured in his youth. So one of the fundamental things about his costume is that he has this scar from the back injury. Even if he hasn’t got the bulletproof vest on, he still has to wear the waist belt and the braces. In that scene in the prison, where he’s learning to fight the same way Batman learned to fight, he’s wearing an early version of his waist belt. It’s showing support, but it’s not the finished one he eventually wears. He’s also wearing an early version of his gas mask, all glued together … If you look at the film, unless they’ve cut it—and I’m sure they haven’t—there’s a whole early section for Tom Hardy where he’s fighting and being taunted by people. He’s got chains on him, and he’s standing on a wooden thing while people are attacking him. And in that scene, he’s wearing a much more ragged, primitive version of the mask.”

I don't think he's ever released a directors cut of any of his movies. I want a directors cut of this movie so bad. Especially the opening scene where they mangled Banes voice from the original version to be included.

I'd rather hear Nolan do a commentary than a director's cut. I honestly didn't care much for Bane as a villain to know more about him, so no big loss if we don't get more background.

Now, if he said that the DC would include more Catwoman, I'm totally game.

Agreed. For me it felt like Bane was just the "obligatory bad guy". Not much to him.

I doubt it was just the opening scene, it was probably the entire film. It's just the opening scene is all we have to go off of.

That said, I would agree. While I liked the voice in the final film well enough, it just didn't sound right.. wasn't natural enough, sounded too much like amplified ADR (which is exactly what it was).
