Hello All, I purchased a Moguai Guy Manuel Cast in hopes to learn a few skills that may help me learn a little more about Prop Making. I got the cast and it Looks pretty awesome.

It definitely needed trimming and sanding. Today I started that.. lol So Far so Good, I have had a few oops moments along the way.

If anyone has Used a Moguai Cast before, I had a question. Is the Visor Installed and secured on the inside of the helmet? Or Should I leave a Lip from the Casting and secure it on top of That?

UPDATE: So Today I took my Helmet for Painting, Having finished Trimming and Sanding the cast I felt that there was nothing I could do to improve upon it. I chose to have it painted with an automotive metallic gold candy paint. I chose not to Chrome it because frankly I thought it was a little expensive. Also I thought it would add a little pzazz to it as well.

Due to some problems with the Visor Moguai sent He is sending me another, so as soon as I get everything back I will Throw some more pictures up.

The cast you bought looks very nice! This is one I purchased off ebay(some no namer) 3 years ago and finally wanted to work on it this year for my sons halloween costume. I agree that the chroming is a bit exspensive, I used a Krylon metallic gold, with a transtar clear. As for attatching the visor I am going to be using magnets so it can be removed if I have to do anything to the lighting and electronics.

That is a VERY Nice Helmet! Is there any Lights Installed?

Great Idea on the Magnets, I have though of that Idea Myself. I love the Idea of the Visor being able to be removed. I purchased some Magnets the other day and received them this morning. However, They were a little smaller than I expected but they were quite cheap so I may order some different ones.

I did receive my helmet back from the painter. The color is not 100% Accurate but It looks gorgeous in the sun, The only problem is In the CON scene it wouldn't pop as much as with the chrome.

Here are a few pictures:

So Tuesday I ran into a Problem, I used 3m Weather Stripping Adhesive to secure my visor in place. Somehow It got on the visor and now for the Life of me I am unsure how to remove it without harming the plastic. (If I am able to remove it at all.) I was hoping someone may have a remedy that I could possibly try? Thanks in advance Guys!

So it has been a while since updating this thread, however I am still working on the helmet. After a Mishap with some Adhesive I used to glue the visor in place I fear I may have to replace the Visor or completely Redo the helmet...:cry I scratched the living *&!@ out of it....

I am still hard at work on other portions of the helmet and can report that I have finished the Biggest portion of the LEDS I plan to use. The Rainbow Racks are 95% complete I just need to decide what to use to Diffuse the Light. Currently I am using some Foam padding and a few Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. I will update with a picture in the Next day or so.
