D.Stines TOS Hero Medical Scanner

I have a D.Stines Medical Scanner, circa 2009, that's been in storage for some time. With the new Wand Tricorder, I decided to bust it out and see if it fits in the bottom compartment, and to my happy surprise it does. My dilemma; I don't recall how to change the battery. I kind of remember unscrewing the bottom compartment, but it doesn't seem to budge. Any insights are appreciated.

The new version was shipped with a little suction cup which makes it easy

Maybe use some scotch tape doubled up to loosen it

It’s definitely a threaded bottom cover. Counter clockwise to unscrew as you would expect. Could your battery have leaked and caused trouble with unscrewing? I agree with the suction cup idea to get a good grip on the bottom cap.

Battery hasn't leaked. It's still running fine, but am anticipating future needs. I was wondering if maybe it wasn't "left loosey". I'll keep giving it a shot. Thanks.
