Custom Vader helmet stand

Most my time on this project was spent finding the right odds and ends for the least amount of money...

The stand is made from an old floor lamp. I chopped off the top portion, removed the wiring and kept the weighted base for stability.

The base piece is a wall clock with an aluminum frame. Pulled out the clock parts, removed the glass an replaced it with plexi. I covered the plexi with window frosting on top, red plastic film underneath, and a vinyl Imperial logo decal. Installed an LED ring light in the clock and fastened it to the lamp base. A couple coats of black semi gloss and here we are!....

Great job. I would cut the post down a bit. Looks a little too tall. Love the lit base also.

Thanks. The post is taller so I can mount my Vader ESB saber below the helmet. I'm still working out how that's going to come together...

Good idea. A clamp to mount to the post and a rod coming out to mount a saber shelf would be cool. Kind of like a floating tray.

That's pretty much what I had in mind. If I can track down some acrylic tube, I'll make a cradle for the saber and clamp it to the rod.
