Custom Stormtrooper Paintup-WEATHERED

Hi all, I've been tinkering with this here and there for the past couple weeks and minus the clear coat, I'm done with this paint project. This is a bit of a gift for a good friend of mine. (He doesn't know about it)

I did not make the helmet, it's a urethane cast material and was purchased online as a raw pull.

This can be worn, BUT I did not make it so you can see through the eyes. I started this to be more of a display piece.

The idea behind this was this particular Stormtrooper didn't fair so well during the battle on Endor (neither did countless others). He got caught in some heated firefights, mud/sand been blasted all over his armor, and finally as he met his end, he face planted right-side first into some thick mud in the forest. The helmet then sat there for a few days through the muggy environment before being picked up.

Let me know what you think, and hope you enjoy!

I like it! It's like digging up an old WWII helmet from a forest in France or something.

I pity the stormtrooper. I'd like the story better if he survived.... no seriously though, that weathering on the helmet is awesome. Excellent job!

Thanks guys! I guess I should mention what I used for those that are curious. For the base colors were Rattle can paints - HiGloss White/Black, and Flat Black. (I did have to dull the white gloss shine down with an abrasive pad) The mud and dirt texture I had to research various other ways to go about but just decided to the easiest way I knew. Dirt mixed with a little water and an ample amount of Tacky Glue. When it dries it's as hard as concrete! All other colors are Acrylic paints that I already have at my disposal. Brown, light brown, titanium white, black, etc..
