Custom Predator Head Sculp

I did it again. Something about it was looking disproportional so I shaved down the upper lip area and re did that. Something else just ate away at me about it still. Then *click* it was the crown shape. It should flow down with dread holes towards the cheeks not the eyebrows.

You didn't say anything to make me feel that way, I just thought all my posts sounded negative, and wanted to let you know that was not my intention.  It's all good fella!

It's fine bro, I asked for criticism. Your posts didn't sound very negative to me though, so it's all good here :)

your doing a great job love the style of this sculpt you have really captured the rage in its expression
Thanks, I have always loved how angry the predator looks. I was wondering if mine really showed it or not.

The eyebrows just seemed to knobby at the outer edge so I have shaven them down, made the eyebrow shape seem more pissed off after that. Added some more spots for spikes to come out and then thought the bumps on the cheek bones seemed out of control so I took all those off and smoothed everything out. i also notice that hi jaw kind of protruded forward too much. so i cut him up and pulled out about 3/4 o an inch wedge out o his jaw. more spikes, horns and bumps to come.

I changed its shape for the final time. I made it a mostly closed mouth mask. I forgot to accommodate for the movement. No more changes. I started molding tonight!
EDIT: I have finished the mold now.

Opened up my mold today annnnd it cracked. No worries, It wasn't that bad. The crack went straight across the eyebrows and since I used lots of plaster bandages on the middle of the face the crack stopped and the mould would flex so i got out some more plaster and the bandages for a quick fix. went ahead and cleaned it out and there are only a few bubles on the front of the neck, so I'm not to sad about it. For my first time it's good enough :)

thanks

Well, I stepped away and came back at it with some fresh eyes. The jaw still seems off to me and I have changed it again. Other than that I have fixed some minor symmetry issues on the scaled dome. For the last shot I did it with flash on just see it without such an exaggerated lighting. Again, all criticism is welcome.
How did you manage to make the mask, and specifically the dome, so symmetrical? I'm gonna try to make my own predator 2 mask and I need all the help I can get. I'm still in the sculpting phase and I am having some trouble making the head look good. Any advice?

Thanks, Dominic

Measure from the center! It helps so much. Knowing the distance from the center on one side lets you get the same on the other. Depending on your preference you can also sculpt one side and then match the other. You can also sculpt both sides at once as you go down the center line. Just remember to measure a lot. Hope that helps :)
