Crystal replicas... what would you like to see?

I have been kicking around some ideas of cool stuff I want to see made out of crystal, and frankly the list is pretty small.

Ideas include :
Superman 4 crystal (based off screen used casting, project only 3 years in the making :lol.)
Crystal Skull from House 2
Another set of hybrid donner/returns crystals (the small pointy customs I had done. I miss my set :cry)
Dark Crystal shard
Atlantis disc (love them mythological prop things)
MAYBE a run of SR "mostly" accurate crystals (additional 7 crystals for the buyers of the original SR crystal run.)
Cosmic Cube
Hellraiser cube (this is REALLY iffy, but damn it would be nice)
Blade Spikes maybe? (torn between brass and crystal)

That is about it though... there just isn't a big amount of stuff I can point out in a movie and go "HOLY CRAP THAT IN CRYSTAL WOULD BE AWESOMETASTIC".

So... guys.... asking less as a "I might want to sell these one day" kinda guy and more a "I want more shiny things in my collection" guy, what sort of stuff would you want to see replicated in crystal?

The only real rules are.. it can't be complex. Guns, blasters, lightsabers, etc are all out since they have tiny details or would be impossible to replicate in plexiglass much less crystal.

Any ideas? Besides the ones I listed up there, I am drawing a huge blank.

Please note this is NOT an interest thread. I am just looking for ideas on nifty things that would be really cool if made out of crystal.

How about the green kryptonite cylinder from SR that Lex put the crystal in before throwing it overboard?

A reproduction of the hunk of kryptonite they use on Smallville (the one Clark keeps in his box).

A crystal kryptonite key from Smallville (the hexagon shaped object). Could have laser engraved symbols on it.

A dilithium crystal (can't believe I'm the first to mention this one).

Some sort of custom crystal stand for folks who bought crystals in the earlier runs.

- The crystal face of Jor-El (Brando)

- Lana's kryptonite necklace (both green and neutralized)

- The Peacocks' Eye diamond from Temple of Doom

- The Crystal Skull from Indy 4 (gonna have to wait till the summer to get pics of that)

- The Light of Eärendil from LotR

I can probably come up with a few more. I'll have to go through my DVD collection tomorrow.

That actually has been done (my friend ordered a couple). The downside is the hole is a little bigger than the SR crystal I did, but the upside is you aren't scraping crystal against crystal when you try to display it.

It's also pretty expensive, but not near the "450$ RETAIL!" price that I saw on ebay the other day.

I want to make one for myself, but I don't want to step on replicaprops toes since he has the license for Smallville. It might happen as a personal project, but not as one offered to the board. Great minds think alike though

Complex . I would need some screencaps and a design idea, but generally "cluster" items can't be made.

I actually did have a design worked out, but it never really "took off" as far as a display idea. They can't do much as far as the outer edges/sides of a crystal go, so it would be round completely. It looked neat, but kinda weird as well. I will see if I can find a picture of it.

Had it made :love . It looks great, but the downside is that red crystal, when you start to get it made in any thickness, has little tiny air bubbles that get trapped in there. Something about how they have to add the dye when it's a certain temp. There isn't a way to NOT get air bubbles trapped. I just got supermegalucky on my replica cause the bubble is near where it was at in the movie

Actually, you have touched on a very real possible project run. I was thinking of offering up "random" crystals, just a general size and shape, but faceted so if you have a display case or a display setup going and need other crystals, you would have some that DON'T look exactly like the rest of em. The factory likes the idea since they don't have to really worry about making all of em match, but it's still sort of up in the air..

Actually, I just saw a pic of it in SFX Magazine, and it wont be doable. The teeth are perfectly crystal clear, but the rest of the skull has thousands of neat looking cracks and imperfections on the inside, kind of like a big hunk of quartz. However, that pic may have been a stock photo of a quartz skull and not the actual movie prop, but they did onclude some new pics of Indy in school teacher attire, and some new location shots.

EDIT: Doesn't the crystal skull in House 2 have blue eyes? How will those be attached? Or is my brain just remembering it glowing blue?

It was a phile; a very shallow vessel. A solid crystal would look pretty much the same as one with a small channel bored down the top. The one MR put out was solid I think (minus the LED imbedded into the middle). 'Twas just an idea. I wouldn't get one, but there are many LotR fans on the board who'd prob be interested.

i was browsing the forums looking for Hellraiser stuff and saw this old thread. i have a pure crystal Hellraiser puzzlebox that i got off eBay for $250 about 10 years ago (so it IS doable). it's the comic faces, though, and the sandblasting is very clean and as precise as sandblasting can be for something this intricate. no internal flaws in the crystal either:

Actually, I would love to see a display base done for the Superman crystals you have already made based something along the lines of the display you see for the Sideshow piece. Just something that would allow me to lay the crystals up upon for display.

That hellraiser cube is amazing. I have a custom done one from Pyramid Gallery. Google them, they make really interesting stuff
