Well the Deadpool costume is now at a close. It's time to start on next years Fan Expo costume and after almost no deliberation I have settled of The Nano Suit from Crysis. Refer to image
No I am hoping to make this epic in detail because I want jaws to drop next year. I have decided to use foam matting to achieve the look of the muscles. well not just the muscles...pretty much everything. I decided to start with the chest cause Why not...now I admit I am going into this without a clear plan. but I'm sure it'll come to me.
What a difference a little sanding makes! i the fact that they are now rounded out makes a huge difference! So here is everything arranged thus far. I figure a good under armour shirt modified with some velcro will hold all of this in place. well most of it. Definitly going to need a little hot glue. Now I admit this looks somewhat underwhelming layed out flat but it will look a lot better once it curves around mu chest and under my arm.
Were you at the one in Toronto or Vancouver? If Toronto, I will see you there next year, if not, Good luck. Either way, I am excited for this build, looks like it will be nice, I have not seen very many Nano suits. Subbed.
I was at the Toronto Fan Ex. and will be there next year as well. There'll be two of us decked out in the Nano suit...I'm only going to be focusing on mine though I will be making two.
So next week I will have a lot of time on my hands in the evenings so I plan to power through a lot of this build. (It's a massive job so if I can in the next week I'm hoping to be finished the chest and maybe the back...so stay tuned
Stomach muscles are cut out and roughly sanded. I am super impressed with how easily this Eva foam sands, I got 60 grit paper and it chews it up like an alligator. I'm going to need to go over it with a finer grit to smooth it better. I'm finding it best to cut out the pieces in groups to assure it fits together right.honestly the muscles are going to end up being the easy part all of the more mechanical silver parts are going to be a headache.
