Crusades PPG.

I won a very nice kit of the "Crusades" (the "Babylon 5" spin-off) PPG pistol, at the Indiana prop party. I really want to get to work on it, but I can't find any reference pics of a finished one anywhere, so if someone could post some pics, or tips, that would be great. :)

Thanks
jason

From what I remember the PPG is almost the same as in B5, but has attachments on the right side, like a Laser site or Flashlight. Silver for the gun, black for the grips.

The crusade version of the PPG is one of my favorites, great pics Rich! And post some pics of the kit when your done!

On the right side of the gun it looks as if a camera flash shoe has been attached as sort of a rail to mount accessories. Perhaps the designer was using the camera design of a "hot shoe" (supplies power to the flash on a camera) to supply power to the gun's accessory.

WOW! I have to admit I was always a bigger fan of B5 then Crusades (show wise) so I never really took much of a look at this prop, and kept wanting a B5 version years now. However, after seeing what these things look like up close, the Crusades PPG is AWSOME! It has so much more detail, and the cool attachments on the side are really cool. :)

Mine came with the scope looking thingy, so that's waht I'll start with. but I may have to do the Flashlight thing for it down the rode. (it looks easy enough.)

Well, thanks to Rich's Great pics, I'v ID most of the parts in my kit all but 2 or 3. I'm not sure, but I thing the parts i have left over go on top of the scope some how. Does anyone have any pics of the top of the scope thingy? Oh, and maybe it's just me, but in those really nice side view shots, does it look like the main body, has blue-ish look to it, or is that just a trick of the light, or my wonky eyes?

Hey cool! One of my favorite subjects :cool

Here is a pic of one of the hero props that I currently own and a resin copy (cast by someone here, I don't know who) that I finished and then al-clad-painted for Goobic.

The hero prop disassembles and various parts "work". It was stupid-expensive, However, I managed to trade for most of the value. Phew.

It arrived a bit "worn" from set use, so I completely disassembled it, cleaned and polished every piece and re-assembled it. There was still blue rubber in the cracks left over from when they had molded it for the resin stunts.

There were also bits of white rubber in there as well. Apparently, it was molded again, before I received it, and it is probably the source of the resin kits that have been floating around.

One of the "top-ten" items in my collection. The EA pin is also an original that I received directly from the costume manager...eliminates the "middleman". :lol

I rigged up the wall display quick-like. Nothing fancy...but it works. It HAD an acrylic lid, but I dropped and cracked it. Oy.
