Crimson Peak prop help!

Hi everyone!

I am brand new to the forum and I am wondering if anyone can help me get going on my journey to recreate a prop from Crimson Peak. (possible spoilers ahead if you haven't seen it!)

I love the entire atmosphere of the film and one of my favourite set pieces is the chest? toolbox? jewelry box? I'm not sure what to call it....in which Lucille keeps a few knives and some braids of hair on the desk in her room towards the end of the movie.

I want to make one of my own and recreate some of the pieces inside, but I have no idea how to begin to research where to find a base to build this box off of. If anyone knows where I might be able to look for something like this:

Welcome to the RPF. a question If I may. have you worked with wood before? looks to be some sort of old style jewelry box. but not necessarily old. through the magic of weathering and such these results can be obtained. and there are others here with far more experience in both wood and weathering than myself and am sure they will help if possible.

I've never worked with wood before but I have worked with leather and the box she has seems to be leather wrapped, i think the best idea may be to buy a wood base that matches and then cover it in leather myself! Thank you!

This looks so close to what I'm looking for, thank you! I guess the lesson here is that a tool chest is actually a bit closer to what I need!
