Crap!! I broke a snap on my gunbelt!

I have an old ANH Solo gunbelt made by a guy most of you probably have never heard of (Dash Rendar -- a.k.a. a guy named Jason who used to be active on these boards circa 1999). The belt is generally held together with these snaps. The snap in question is one of those push-snaps that holds the blaster in place in the holster itself. This is for the strap that goes over the butt of the gun.

Anyway, the snap on the holster itself popped loose. I'm not sure how to fix it. I tried JB Welding it and that didn't do squat (I guess the JB weld didn't adhere to the metal on the snap, nor to the leather).

It looks like the base of the snap on the underside of the holster is bent in. Anyone out there know how to fix or do a quick replace on these things? I'm desperate here, since this was to be my costume for Halloween this year.

Update:

I seem to have fixed it. Apparently a pair of pliers and some brute force did the trick. Turns out the little post onto which the front part of the snap connected was just out of whack. I'll just have to carry one in one of my vest pockets that night. ;)

Man. Where's a hydrospanner when you need one?

If any more come undone, you can buy snaps from either the hardware store or Tandy leather.

The kit includes the anvil and tool to attach them, and cost less then $20.

Good to know. I just used a pair of pliers and that seemed to do the trick. It's nice to know that at least they're easy to replace, though. Thanks for the tips guys!
