Just wanted to give a quick review on Todd's Costumes new Raider Fedora.

In a nut shell....one of the best Indy hats at that price point ($129).

Velvety soft rabbit fur felt in a nice chocolate brown. It's nice and floppy (unlike the Downtowner which is a lot stiffer) with a nice white satin liner.

Todd even installed his famous ribbon.

The hat is a tad shorter in the crown than the Downtowner, which to me makes it more of a Last Crusade hat for which I prefer. I can't wear my Downtowner because it's just too tall on my head. The Raider has a much better look on me. Last year I bought Todd's Bantu Wind Jacket (A Raiders with flaws, so he sold them at a discount) and it quickly became my everyday jacket and I already know his Raider Fedora will be worn daily also.

I got mine unbashed and I've found it's very easily molded.

Anyway, if you have the means, I highly suggest Coyle's Raider. :thumbsup

Any idea how it compares to a Fed IV regular? It definetely seems to have less 'Raiders' vibe to it than the Fed, but some pics over at COW made me think twice about that. Oh...and PICS!

Sorry guys, trying to get pics posted :wacko

Unfortunately I can't compare to anything but the Downtowner. I am sure the Akurba Fed, Adventurebilt and Penman are superior hats, but for the price point ($129), the Raider is a great hat.

The Fed regular is actually about $120AUD, so that's why I'm interested - the Penman, the AB, or one of the higher end Beaver hats would mean I'm sleeping on the couch for a loooooong time to come :) I am gonna need a new hat sooner rather than later, and while I love my Fed IV, it's got a bit more KotCS than Raiders.

Anyways PICS!!!!!!

Actually I have found out that Cabelas has a really nice Indy shirt and pants. I wanted to be as authentic as I could. I started with the leather jacket, which is the INDY style jacket. I was not going to be too picky about te pants as long as they were the right color. I fund the actual sachel online at "What Price Glory".com. It is the WWii mark VII British gas mask bag made in 1941 But the actual time line in te movie I t l11930's. About the Indy fedora/ for some reason they did change hats between The Temple of Doom an Raiders of the Lost Ark. I think the reasoning was that Herbert Johnson discontinued the original block used to make the Raiders Fedora. As you can clearly see between the films. But brought it back in "The last Crusade" by a different supplier. But I was very impressed by Todds Costumes when they had their version of "The Poet" Raiders Fedora. Very affordable and not overpriced; And speaking of OVERPRICED Donot go to David Morgan to get a whip. Just because he was the main supplier to the movies doesn't me he has to be pricy? I wonder how he stays in business? You would be spending a few hundred dollars more than you would have too. I found mine through an EBAY seller. Just shop around. it took me a few months to get piece by piece. But I have a full collection. Except for maybe the gun. I do agre that you can be overpaying if you donot shop around. Or you can go the cheap HALLOWEEN costume store way.
