costume under-construction

Awesome gauntlets. May I ask how you made them? I understand you used construction foam mounted on a Pringle can. What did you mount on top of the construction foam for the self destruct device? What are the long blades made of, and did you use a pattern? How did you color the gauntlets (it looks like a print on the bottom section of the gauntlets)? I would appreciate any information you are willing to give me. Thanks!

here's how i put them all together the blade are from an old vertical blind topcover
the pink foam needs to be carved to have the gaunlet shape

gaunlet blade pattern i got this from an old thread here

fun foam from the dollar store

the black part is the carpet under padding

when everything is put together paint it first with plastidip and after acrylic paint...(hand paint)
and by the way plastidip melts the pink construction foam but in my case it made the foam look like weathered old metal.

Hope this helps a bit if you have any other question pm me or reply to this thread

My armor is getting along as planned instead of using buckets im using builders tube which is used in construction, i used a reciprocal saw to cut it and glued and tied them all together, some other parts are carpet underpadding and pvc vertical blinds...As you can see im going AVP route for my costume...

You and MacG don't have shares in the Pringle company do you?
Sales will be going through the roof soon :)

Nice job on the hands and up another pic of the mask when you're done :)

Hopefully I'll be able to up some pics of my suit soon (sigh)
Still a little way to go but getting there with my new theme

These threds rock !! , so good to see people working with different stuff, we maybe get alittle tunnel vision sometimes looking to be as accurate as possible, then a thred like this shows up and makes ya think "**** i would have finished my suit by now if id used my imagination hehe"

top marks for where your going, just dont eat too many pringles eh :)

looking forward to see more updates.

I see everyone likes the Celtic armor, and it looks damn accurate. Excellent use of household stuff. As my father recoil1701 always says, "necessity is the mother of invention". I can't wait to see the finished product...

pringles cans, $5
builders tube $14
duct tape $5
creating a predator suit out of thin air...priceless.

Again great use of resources, can't stress it enough, this will do wonders for the beginner predator enthusiasts. :)

Who can top that? cheap as dirt to make with just sense and sensibility.. make sure to weather the armour a bit and shove up some more pics ^^

Thanks everyone for the good comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to buy a neck ring, but i came up with an idea!!!!!!!

What do you think?

That's a nice looking neck ring there buddy!

Have you tried it on yet?
Coz it looks as though it may be a little high unless you have a Giraffe neck
You may want to try turning your head while wearing it also, coz if the edges are rough, it might be a bit uncomfortable

All up tho.....excellent work.

Wow. Just...wow. Great work and use of materials. What all pieces are you still waiting on or working on?
