costume under-construction

It looks like me and Mac have a lot to catch up with. Mumbaki is the king of Scratch building

Keep up the good work and we all should have our suits in the suit thread by October

Thanks guys for the amazing comments...more updates coming soon
suit thread here i come!!!!!!

Looks really really good for all the work you did. I especially like the chainmaile look you have going on- and the fact that your suit doesnt look exactly like everyone else. Nice job on painting the skin- looks good for not using an airbrush.

I only have 2 critiques really.

1. the dreads need more of a taper. What I did with mine was a started higher up on the dread and tapered them with scissors. Then I took a dremel and smoothed them down. Then I sprayed 2 light coats of plastidip on them so they were black and shiny. This also helped to blend the shaved tip into the rest of the dread. Your dreads look a little grey- maybe it is the photo?

2. The armor looks a little bit flat. Some texture to your armor will kill some of flat silver color and make it look like more realistic armor. Check out Ice's bio helms- perfect example. All you need is a little bit of a darker silver color and a chip brush. Then very lightly add a texture. You can always experiment first too.

Thats my 2 cents. Nice work all around my friend.

Another update on my suit tried everything together skin suit, body netting(tnx to bovine13), body armor and bio helmet...project is 70% complete

Hi there welcome to the lair!!!! I used a paint brush to paint my costume different sizes and thickness round and flat...I also used Acrylic paint and sealed it with clear plastidip..Hope this helps :)

I think you've done a fantastic job on that suit...

my only comment is is looks too clean.. did you plan on weathering the armor some more?. just to give it some dimension and a more realistic feel.

the chain mail look and the mask are good as well ...keep it up

What did you use to make the skin? Is it A skin tight suit with black electric tape painted. Sorry I can't tell but I am interested in how you did it cause I am starting on my own armor now.
