Haha. My rug!!
I based it off of this image.
It's the Devil's Trap from Supernatural. Technically it's pretty legitimate... it's based off of the Lesser Key of Solomon written in the 17th century.

The center forms a word I am not familiar with. It may be Hay Vuv Lamed which has a numerical value of 36. It could also mean "I am G-d". It is really interesting. I am going to have to study it more.

OK one last note on the rug, as the thread is really about the costume. I spent a fair bit of time sounding out all the words. Although I can read them, put together the way they are they don't make any sense. Oh well, I guess I will have to find my quest for enlightenment somewhere besides from props used on a TV Series, Dang it!!!

EDIT: I consulted with a friend, and he found that he could translate the outer ring around the scorpion. He says it is from Psalm 91, and is some sort of older middle ages scipt. It roughtly translates to "O thou that dwellest in the covert of the Most High, and abidest in the shadow of the Almighty" על שחל ופתן תדרך תרמס כפיר ותנין

What a beautiful job! I also love all of the costumes on OUaT, I'm really loving that show. I want to make my daughter a Mulan costume. She's always asking for a Disney Princess outfit. I'm sure the warrior Mulan isn't what she means, but she wasn't too specific so she might end up with that
