Cool "Sci-Fi" Looking .22 Caliber Rifle?

I'm looking for a cool "sci-fi" looking .22 caliber rifle for target shooting that could be bought or ordered at local gun stores for under $500.00.

Not looking to buy one here on the Forum, just to make that clear... just hoping for some ideas on what to look for.

Styles and pictures would be great!

Thanks for the help and ideas!

Not to be too obvious, but it may be a little over your price range. But a Calico 22 Cal Rifle is the perfect match. Basis of the under section of the Terminator Plasma Rifle.

The terminator plasma rifles had a calico 9mm in them, different look. The 22's were used pretty much as is in spaceballs though. :)

I'd say look at some of the different configurations of the GSG 22's. They are MP-5 clones, but they come in a wide variety of looks and cost around $500 depending on what you get.

i have many 22 sci fi guns , the calico is being made again and was the gun used on Spaceballs. chech out Gunbroker.com.
if you have any questions on 22's i will be glat to help or supply some pics of mine.
john :cool

I recently bought a 9mm Calico and it was a fun little gun but it took a lot of ammo to break it in and even then I had to send it in for warranty work

Beretta I think has one coming out that looks very nice.If someone could please post a pic that would clear that up?

Calico M100
Ruger 10/22 (lots of ways to deck it out, bullpup stocks give it quick Scifi looks)
Browning Buck Mark Sporter
Sig 522
Excel Arms Accelerator MR-22

I would probably lean towards the 10/22 and just deck it out, it's a rock solid gun design that performs top notch over and over again, and it's cheap...

I have one of the GSG-5 SDs and an old Rhineland Arms R22 (I think that's what it was called anyway). Both are very nice shooters that grab attention at the range. The Accelerator MR-22 just screams "Buck Rogers" to me :)

I have to agree on the Ruger 10/22. I had one and I loved it. Too bad it was stolen.( It's a good, inexpensive, reliable rifle and there are quite a few nice after-market stocks for it.

Of course, there's the good ol' AR-7. :)

It's now manufactured by Henry Arms, sold under the name "Henry Survival" I believe. The basis for several Star Wars blasters.
That's mine in the pic above. I have since painted it in a camo pattern and added a scope.

I totally forgot I had one in the basement until you posted that shot. Time to start looking.
