Completed my Freddy vs Jason Jacket

Got done with my Jason jacket a little bit ago and thought I would post some pictures.
The jacket was completely hand sewn and weathered by me.

This is my first time ever sewing anything in my life. :p

I might add some more burn effects to the shoulder and upper chest with some silicone but I'm not sure yet.

Let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

I'm not sure I buy this first time sewing thing... however, it looks great. I love the burlap and the weathering.

I don't think I would change a thing. It looks just like the screen used.

LOL! I swear to God this was my first sewing adventure. I looked up how to do a zig zag stitch and a backstitch on Google and got to work.

Really appreciate the compliments. Makes it all worth it. Thanks!

Thanks guys!

Simmon- Did you ever finish up your Jason mannequin? I knew that you were still looking for certain things...

now i'm really wanting to make a new fvj jacket! mine is an off the shelf carhart that i modified to look close-ish, but this one just rocks!

do you have any other parts of the suit?

I have everything else but I'm changing out the gloves and the boots with more screen accurate ones.

Thanks!

my jason costume started out as a halloween quickie, which has been evolving into something more accurate.

i'm getting there, but i've got a looooong way to go. the hock and machete i'm happy with. the rest needs work.

any photos online of the rest of your stuff?

that mask is gorgeous!

i've been going for the look at the beginning of the movie, when he's less beaten up:

but that's just so pretty! well, in a bloody, undead serial killer sort of way...

Thanks! I used one by the Green Pepper company. It's their French Barn Jacket one. I altered it a bit though to match the movie better.

Cool. You've given me the Jason bug again. I made a Jason jacket out of a found item and it looks fine but nowhere near as screen-accurate as yours. I love the FVJ Jason's look!

Did you have any problems sewing the burlap? It seems like it might be hard because of the loose weave. Did you prewash the material? Does it still smell like burlap? Sorry for so many questions.

Thanks again!

I hand sewed this jacket so it wasn't that bad with the burlap. I am currently making a jacket for someone else and I bought a sewing machine to do it faster. With the sewing machine it is a nightmare; it keeps jamming the machine.

I didn't prewash the burlap and yes, it smells heavily of burlap. :)

With this new jacket, I will soak it for a day in water and fabric softner so that it hangs even more loosely.
