Comic Style Symbiote Spider-Man Suit - Progress Thread

I'll be checking up on my print later this week to see how it's going being assembled and hopefully put up some progress pics.

Just a small update for you all, my suit is being assembled as we speak!

The lady who is putting it together was sick for a week or so, but she's rearing and ready to get it all sorted. I should be going down to get it fitted on Sunday, so hopefully will have some more images for everyone.

For now, here's the progress shots she sent me last night.

Just a few updates for everyone.

I went down and had a brief fitting for my suit, just to make sure that the legs and zippers are fit correctly, then she'll finish the mask and put the arms on.

In these photos we have a double 'U' zip, with a zip running from each armpit to the back of my waist. Unfortunately, my hips are wider than my waist, so I can barely get the suit up past my legs. so we've decided to go with a single side zipper running down under my arm and to just below my waist. Luckily, the suit is dark, so I can get away with it relatively easily.

Next week I go down and hopefully do the final fitting, but I'm super happy with how it's turned out so far.

Also, I've gotta say my butt looks DAMN good in this suit!

Very cool that you're getting that custom fit. That's usually not an option for non sewing cosplayers

Yeah, I'm pretty lucky in that aspect! The lady who's sewing my suit has experience working with lycra, but never a project this big, so she wants to make sure it all goes together and fits perfectly.

Will be interesting to see how the side zipper goes, shouldn't restrict my movement any. Damn my large legs!

All that's left is to get my face shell sorted, shape the lenses and attach soles to the bottom of my suit.

But never fear, I'm hoping to bring Spidey with me to a US con next year, so you might just get that opportunity!

So i went to pick up my suit on the weekend, and as it turns out, it's too small for me.

Both height and width need correcting in order to fit me, so I'll be manually resizing my pattern and starting again from scratch, much to my dismay.
I'm selling the suit in the Junkyard if you're interested in picking it up for someone smaller than me, otherwise I won't be able to afford a second print.

I'll continue updating this thread when I get my new print.
