Come Fly With Me: The Story of Pan-Am documentary

Anyone see this? I stumbled across it on youtube and it made me sad how far air travel, and travel by train, have fallen. It went from being something you dressed up for to ill mannered masses in a sardine can. I suppose bus travel's gone down hill too. I keep hoping for a day when the airlines go back to being something only some can afford and trains return to being the way to go.

I haven't seen this, but it sounds interesting.

I also feel nostalgic for that era of civility that is only now a memory. Those days are gone for good, I'm afraid. Too many people and so many diverse cultures and social behaviors in the mix that affects all public transportation these days. Bottom line for corporations now isn't quality products or service, it's profit margins. So it's stuff of dreams now.

I do know that Pan Am was one of the first public airlines and was tops in the game for decades. I don't know a lot about aviation history, but my dad did, and I knew he had great admiration for that airline.

I'm going to pass that blog to my buddy too as he tends to get a lot of goodies from this era on his raids for ebay sales. I feel old because i remember when you would dress up for church now it's suddenly okay for shorts and sweatsuits. I think it's part of why i like the fallout games, despite it being 2277 and the world is ruined it's still the swinging 50s lol. Now if only we could throw out all the disneyland wannabes in vegas and get our 60s casinos back.
