Cobra Kai Karate Kid tv comedy sequel

I watched the first two seasons and I love the show so far. It's a bit cheesy, but overall they transport the 80s vibe very well and it's very refreshing. The kid who plays Johnnys son reminds me of Jonathan Brandis in Sidekicks.

I finished up season 2 last night. I am REALLY enjoying this show.

I wish Daniel would just pull his head out of his ass and realize that Johnny is really trying to turn himself around. The moments when they are getting along and bonding are some of my favorites in the show.

I also like the various themes that they're playing with: how the bullies are frequently bullied themselves (Johnny, most of the Cobra Kai kids) and how without positive influences, kids who have been tormented can turn into the things they hated (ie, Hawk).

I'm also really fond of them playing with the concept of second chances and how it's possible to change, but you have to WANT to do it. Johnny WANTS to change. Kreese does not, and full-on took advantage of Johnny's wanting to believe Kreese might actually want to change as well.

I agree that Robby gives strong Jon Brandis vibes, but that's not a negative for me. I think the kid is a strong actor, and I have liked seeing him come around to understand that his dad really does care, he's just clueless how to effectively show it.

REALLY looking forward to season 3. :D

You had me until 'Robby'... haha :)

I just cant stand him./. and I think his acting is terrible! Forced even..

Other than that.. 100% agree so far :)

I kind of think Johnny’s son reminds me of Rider Strong.

I’m in the middle of the second season now. I binged the first shortly after it came out and loved it, but didn’t get around to watching this season until it hit Netflix.

From what I’ve read, season 3 is completely finished, and was supposed to release this past spring, but the move to Netflix pushed it into 2021.

It’s actually a great show. I really love how they show both Daniel and Johnny as flawed characters...neither of them is a hero or a villain...and I think that’s very “real.”

Also how, in Johnny's mind, Daniel is the villain of the original movie. It just goes to show that everyone is the hero in their own mind.

Soo...... a hint at a Mr. Miyagi had...... as son? (perhaps?)

I'm also waiting on the return of Ali Mills (ie: Elisabeth Shue)...

I guessing/hoping her and Johnny get back together!!

I think more along the lines that Mr. Miyagi didn't teach Daniel every aspect of Miyagi-do karate. Since Miyagi and Sato both learned it from the same person (Mr. Miyagi's father), its very likely that Sato taught these other aspects to Chozen and now Chozen can teach them to Daniel in order for him to regain balance and get his life back in order.

I'm looking forward to season 3

They have done an amazing job of turning Johnny into a like able character and showing both sides of the story. There are a few clear cut bad guys, but it is hard sometime to know who you should be rooting for

So...in the episode where Daniel and Johnny are discussing the fact that Ali Mills married some guy and moved to Denver, and now has the last name Schwarber...well...there’s a scene in the second season where Johnny sends a message to Ali Mills Schwarber, confirming that her last name is Schwarber.

I happened to be looking at the listing for Tory’s character to try to find what I’d seen her in before, and I noticed that she is listed as “Tory Schwarber.” Soooo...maybe Ali isn’t in Denver any more????

I have not actually looked into the validity of this, and on IMDB she’s just listed as “Tory,” so I’m not sure where Google gets its listing from...but it could make for a compelling storyline.

One of the creators confirmed her name as Nichols on twitter

I just so want Terry Silver and Karate's Bad Boy Mike Barnes showing up on this show. And yes, you have to say the whole thing when referring to Karate's Bad Boy Mike Barnes.
